Genetic studies of Kohanim have proved inconclusive in determining uniform descent.

Can you prove that you are descended from the tribe of Judah? Since you haven't yet answered directly, I would just say no, you can't.
I am connected to the tribe of Judah, but from my paternal grandmother, so I can't be sure of a tribal lineage, just a familial one.

If you are of the lost 10 tribes of Israel you are not Jewish unless your ancestors intermarried with the tribe of Judah.

this is not an accurate statement according to Jewish law.

Not pre-Jesus. Post-Jesus.

It's history. The Romans virtually wiped out the Judeans. The diaspora continued to migrate and intermarry. In fact, they had a history of intermarriage and were repeatedly castigated for it.

I think I can name provisions in the Torah that no one follows. Absolutely no one.
Advice for anyone--or any religion/faith--that feels they must discredit, tear down another religion/faith is on the wrong track and way off base: Listen to people of the Jewish faith who are posting. They speak the truth of their own beliefs without the need to tear down yours. The need to tear down the faith of another only advertises the weakness of one's own.

I don't go by nor am I held to Jewish law. I am going by genealogy.
your statement included the claim: " you are not Jewish unless"
this is a statement that is based in Jewish law. Or do you think a random Inuit can decide whether someone else is Jewish.

Jews began by being the children of only one tribe of Israel, ie Judah, of the 12 tribes of Israel. These are the twelve tribes:

Reuben
Simeon
Levi
Judah
Issachar
Zebulun
Benjamin
Dan
Naphtali
Gad
Ashur
Joseph

If you were a son of any other tribe you were not considered a Jew. You could be a Danite, a Reubenite, a Levite, etc. To be a Jew you had to have been born of one with a lineage of Judah. I don't consider one who believes in the religion of Jews to necessarily be a Jew. All the other tribes originally believed in the Law of Moses as given to them by our Lord Jesus Christ, who is Jehovah of the Old Testament, yet they were not called Jews. but were called by their own tribes. That is how I see it today and I don't go by others' definitions.

The term "Jew" began as an adaptation of "Yehudi" which Meant of Judah, referring to the KINGDOM of JUDAH, not the tribe, as there were member of other tribes as part of the kingdom (check the scroll of Esther for confirmation as Mordechai, from the tribe of Benjamin, is called a "Yehudi"). So there were and are plenty of people who were and are Jews who are from other tribes.

Show me where God told all the children of Israel to call themselves Jews and to name their religion Judaism.

have you ever read about the split between the northern and southern kingdoms? Do you have any knowledge of the biblical kingdoms? Did you know that Mordechai was a Yehudi even though he was from Benjamin? I get the sense you haven't a clue about the evolution of the Jewish people.

Me too, but Jerusalem Sanhedrin Rabbi Yeshayahu Hollander probably considers me to be a part of the "Noahide Movement."
Actually my mother was Jewish my father Protestant. I never knew them. I was raised in a very strict Jewish family

Yes, the northern kingdom consisted of those who are the lost 10 tribes. Wikipedia has the following on Mordecai's genealogy:

Genealogy

The tablet of Mordechai's ancestry in the tomb traditionally ascribed to him and Esther
The Targum Sheni gives his genealogy in more detail, as follows:<a href="Mordecai - Wikipedia"><span>[</span>b<span>]</span></a> "Mordecai, son of Jair, son of Shimei, son of Shemida,<a href="Mordecai - Wikipedia"><span>[</span>c<span>]</span></a> son of Ba'anah, son of Elah, son of Micah, son of Mephibosheth, son of Jonathan, son of Saul, son of Kish, son of Abiel, son of Zeror, son of Bechorath, son of Aphiah,<a href="Mordecai - Wikipedia"><span>[</span>d<span>]</span></a> son of Shecharim,<a href="Mordecai - Wikipedia"><span>[</span>e<span>]</span></a> son of Uzziah, son of Sason,<a href="Mordecai - Wikipedia"><span>[</span>f<span>]</span></a> son of Michael, son of Eliel, son of Amihud, son of Shephatiah, son of Penuel,<a href="Mordecai - Wikipedia"><span>[</span>g<span>]</span></a> son of Petah,<a href="Mordecai - Wikipedia"><span>[</span>h<span>]</span></a> son of Melokh, son of Yerubaal,<a href="Mordecai - Wikipedia"><span>[</span>i<span>]</span></a> son of Yeruham, son of Hananiah, son of Zabdi, son of Elpa'al, son of Shimri, son of Zebadiah, son of Rimoth,<a href="Mordecai - Wikipedia"><span>[</span>j<span>]</span></a> son of Khashum,<a href="Mordecai - Wikipedia"><span>[</span>k<span>]</span></a> son of Shekhorah, son of Gazza, son of 'Uzza, son of Gera, son of Bela, son of Benjamin, son of Jacob the firstborn, whose name is called Israel."<a href="Mordecai - Wikipedia"><span>[</span>21<span>]</span></a><a href="Mordecai - Wikipedia"><span>[</span>22<span>]</span></a> The same genealogy is inscribed on a massive metal tablet in the Tomb of Esther and Mordechai (pictured).

As to why he called himself a Jew, there could be various reasons. But foremost he seems to have been a Benjaminite.

the scroll of Esther is what refers to him as a Yehudi. This is because he was from the KINGDOM of Judah which included the tribe of Benjamin. He was not from the tribe of Judah but was still a Yehudi.

Well of course nobody follows everything. But you said that the Jews of today have nothing of the Jews before Jesus.

The obvious exception is the Torah, given to the Jews 3500 years ago, and which we - as the Jewish people - follow today.

You seem intent on believing the Jews of Jesus’ time were wiped out. I suspect you like that idea as of a form of punishment, or the simple idea that the “bad Jews” who didn’t accept your Messiah have no descendants. Not true.

Thank you!

It is indeed quite obnoxious for a Christian to tell a practicing Jew that he’s not really Jewish. There is antisemitism at the root of that, and other comments saying Jews today have nothing connection to Jews of Jesus’ time, in that it obviously is trying to deny the long heritage of the Jewish people that continues to this day.

It’s almost as if the antisemites know they can’t get rid of the Jews the way Hitler did, so they’re doing it by denying our ancestry.
