Could the US defeat China in a CONVENTIONAL war?

Not at all.
All across this country defacing and/or vandalism of war memorials all began at the same time. And has never stopped.
Most parks completely removed WWI and WWII monuments/statues a few decades ago.
Here locally both the WWI and WWII monuments were completely removed in the late 90s after repeated attempts to repair and secure them. The WWI monument was a statue of a soldier with wording on a podium below it. The podium is the only thing that remains. And most of the wording has been defaced. It was erected in 1919. And stood, untouched for over 70 years. 70 years of teenagers in an unsecured public park... no one touched it. Same for the WW II monument that had two large fantastic eagle statues on both sides of the large ornate monument. It was erected in 1948. And stood, untouched for over 40 years.
The eagles are gone. And on the back of the monument listed all of the war dead in this city. Many of the names have been defaced.
All of this occurred post 1990.
It is the same all over America.
Because teens today flat out are not patriotic.
I work with teenagers every day. Do you?

the 1st thing China will do when war breaks out in 2025 is strike The Navy’s only forward-deployed aircraft carrier, the USS Ronald Reagan, with a ballistic missile

President Cotton will retaliate by unleashing HELL

China would seize Taiwan's airports and ports, paving the way for a ground attack with hundreds of thousands of Chinese troops

a Chinese-controlled Taiwan could pave the way for Chinese expansion across Asia

in order to stop this scenario, America would have to undergo the toughest most vicious war in the history of humanity

my prediction: such a conflict would end up destroying Taiwan while trying to save it, with both America and China suffering massive human casualties and economic loss

in President Xi, China have the strongest most ruthless dictator the world has ever seen since Hitler. meanwhile, American democracy is mired in division, violence, lack of passion for the downtrodden and confusion

I work with teenagers every day. Do you?
That means nothing. Nada.
You are working with a tiny-tiny-tiny micro set of a massive population.
I gave you just one example of behavior that has occurred all over the nation. Not one room of a handful of kids.
My brother and his wife work in administration for the Chicago school system. It is an amazing mess. Mess.
The kids are out of control, and no one can or is willing to do anything about it due to DEI boards and leftwing moonbat school boards that will not stand for students to be "uncomfortable" or feel "unsafe". The teachers can't do anything.
Bonzi works for the school system here. It is much the same. The kids are in control, not the teachers. We had 22 teachers quit last year.
I believe it was 17 the year before that. And their replacements are insane idiots. They will hire just about anyone who can legally occupy a classroom.
It is a mess.

Zelensky wants to attack Russia with nuclear weapons. Our elected politicians are of the swamp and tools of the globalists.
A very bad idea. I only hope Biden doesn't get suckered into that.

It means I interact with these young people and actually get to know them well. You repeat broad-brush generalizations you've been fed from hysterical website "news" sources.
Newsource?
Are you maintaining that there has been no national monument destruction problem since the late 90s??
Really?
Just about every major newsource has done stories on it.
I also included local parks here that I grew up around.
I also included 3 family members that work in the school systems. Is that a newsource? Broad brush??

Do you know how long it would take for them to build everything? In WWII, it took on average, 42 days for the U.S. to crank out ONE liberty supply ship at peak war production effort. The parts were supplied by over 15 factories, and then it took about a week to assemble. China could do it, but to create thousands of ships, in places where they could even build ships, would take a very long time. It wouldn't be like the U.S. would be sitting on the beaches just watching them do it without preparations of our own, you know.
You can't compare Liberty Ships to modern ones. The Liberty Ship was a British designed copy of a cheap tramp steamer. It was slow, relied on cheap vertical triple expansion steam engines that a three-year-old could be taught to repair and operate. The original Liberty Ships took far longer to build, the first Liberty Ship, the Patrick Henry took 244 days from keel laying to commissioning. Modern ships are much larger and use highly complicated specialist marine diesels. Chinese shipyards wouldn't survive long enough to build an invasion fleet.

We learned that during the Korean War when Chinese troops came at us in massive waves.
And we slaughtered them like waves breaking on a rocky shore. Depending on the source, the PLA lost between 500,000 and 1,000,000 KIA in the Korean War. That's not counting the North Korean casualties which were between 130,000 and 500,000 depending on the source. A wounded PLA soldier almost always died as a result of his wounds. There were no ambulances or helicopters to ferry wounded Chinese and North Koreans to medical care which, above minor first aid, didn't exist.

How many decades would it take for them to develop the ships and aircraft needed to do that?

How many ships would they have to build? We would just need to ensure we have enough torpedoes for our attack submarines to send them to the bottom of the Pacific. Ducks in a barrel!

They buy all of the jet engines for their civilian aircraft from western sources. That speaks volumes about their ability to produce engines for their military aircraft. Their aircraft are mostly Russian designed and built under license.

Their only strategic bomber is the H-6 which is a 1950s Soviet design they built in the late 60s and early 70s. It was obsolete the day it rolled off the assembly line. It only as a 3700 nm range without air-to-air refueling.

I am confused because you seem to be under the influence of some mind-altering substance.
For those who don't know, it's a copy of the Russian Badger Tupolev 16 which entered Russian service in 1954. The Chinese version the H-6 entered service in the mid 1960s and they now have a total of 231 aircraft. It's a sitting duck for any modern air defense network or fighter. Hell, it's a sitting duck for a Korean War vintage F-86 Saber.

Check your history books. We never really defeated the Chinese after they entered the war. They took back all of what is now North Korea and we held them in the vicinity of the 38th parallel.
Because that's all we wanted to do. That was a political decision to keep Russia out of the war. It was decided to just restore the original border rather than conquer North Korea.
