Stoked by evangelical and tea-party support, Ted Cruz has surged to first place in Iowa, according to the results of a Monmouth University poll released Monday surveying voters likely to participate in the Republican caucus on Feb. 1. Cruz earned 24 percent of support among likely caucus-goers, with 19 percent opting for Donald Trump, whose polling advantage in the state has dwindled in recent weeks. In a Quinnipiac University survey conducted in mid-November, Trump held a slim 25 percent to 23 percent advantage over Cruz, while retired neurosurgeon Ben Carson finished with 18 percent. I know there are a lot of solid Trump supporters, but Cruz is the guy who WILL follow the constitution; along with dismantling a lot of the power levers in Washington DC. He also worked for a supreme court justice, and this President will probably put in 3 new justices. This is exactly why this election is so important, along with a host of other reasons.

It's funny to see you start trying to weasel out of your support for Trump.

V, when corned during the late summer, on supporting a progressive statist like Trump, said he would support Cruz if he became the nominee. V is about winning not integrity.

You mean Trump the Birther- or as you call them- RINO

Cruz is insane. He would be a perfect president if you believe the United States is in its death spiral.
Cruz (and Trump for that matter) would be rejected by a bigger margin than was Goldwater.

You are wrong on Cruz. And if Trump goes out of the race and supports him; which is the only one he would support, you guys are done. Go ahead and act arrogant, but the people KNOW they don't want Hilly. The only reason they don't want Cruz, is because you leftists told them not to. Once they listen to him, it is over, and the funny thing is........this is exactly what was predicted over a year ago. Hilly leading, Cruz coming in and hosing her. I love it when a plan comes together

iamwhosure, you are not mainstream. People who think politically as you do are not mainstream. You are being as silly as were the libertarians in 2008 and 12 thinking Paul had a chance at the nomination.

You are deluded.
