China stunned by the ineffectiveness of their air defense batteries in Maduro Raid

I would not say worthless. They are probably plenty good at bringing down older Warsaw Pact era crap.

But they have been proven to be pretty bad at bringing down more modern US aircraft.
Can they get a refund

And this just came out today..

One key, behind-the-scene person in the entire Venezuelan saga that led to the arrest of its president, Nicolas Maduro, was reportedly Delcy Rodriguez, his vice president, who has since been set as the interim president by US President Donald Trump, sidelining the likes of Nobel Peace Prize laureate Maria Corina Machado. In the run up to Maduro’s capture, Rodriguez was coordinating with Trump.

According to a report in The Guardian, Rodriguez and her brother promised to cooperate with Trump and his team once Maduro was gone. Rodriguez and her brother told US and Qatari officials through intermediaries that they would welcome Maduro’s departure.

Rodriguez communicated that ‘Maduro needs to go’ and that she would work with whatever is the aftermath, the report stated citing sources. However, US Secretary of State Marco Rubio was initially sceptical about working with regime elements but came around to believe Rodriguez’s promises.

Multiple sources revealed that while the Rodriguez siblings promised to assist the US once Maduro was gone, they never agreed to help the US topple him. The report stated that key Trump aides continued official talks with Delcy and Jorge Rodriguez, often to coordinate for the biweekly flights of Venezuelans that were deported from the US.

Now, while the article claims that Rodriguez didn't actively help (supposedly) she was cutting deals with Trump to stayin power after Maduro was gone.

Doesn't take a brain surgeon to tell you the fix was in.

So you don’t have a link to substantiate your claim then?

Dude. You’re taking a Grand Canyon sized leap between those dots.

How is it a leap.

Trump negotiated with Delcy to step in once Maduro was removed.
Amazing, the night they go in to get Maduro, his guards are ineffect, none of the Air Defense Batteries are working.
After they arrest him, Trump is suddenly okay with his Vice-President taking over and oil is allowed to flow.

CONNECT THE DOTS

I was in charge of our ship's radar systems in the 1980s. We had things going back then that no one has even heard of today. I still cannot talk about some of the technology we had even back then!
My ex navy pal ( also a power engineer ) spilled some beans on the published HP of various ships. He said that one in particular that was rated for 75k shaft was actually more like 175k.
He worked on this ship as a gas turbine mechanic.

He said the published numbers don't actually match the real performance and that they are always understated on purpose.

Whatever fantasies you like.

Reality- Venezuela didn't have the missiles tied into their radar, some systems were still in the warehouses..

And more than likely, this was an inside job. One of Maduro's own people probably sold him out.

The whole matter was Staged but you cannot talk sensibly to very old people suffering from Cognitive Rigidity .

The CIA could tell them anything and they would react like programmed zombies .

It will be fascinating to watch when the Sheeple are convinced that a UFO invasion is taking place .

Most likely true, clear there was some sort of treachery, if indeed she is the traitor she probably won't live long, there are thousands of Chavezistas and they are all armed, depends if high ranking elements of the military were involved in the treachery, Ridriguez makes patriotic noises about freeing Maduro etc but so far her actions say something else.

Which is probably why the oil companies said, "No thanks" when Trump tried to get them to invest in VZ.

They know a sucker's bet when they see one.

That said, I suspect most of the Chavezistas are probably just waiting it out. Now that VZ can sell oil again on the open market, that will bring in some revenues and lift some of the hardship, which might mollify the masses.

I suspect Delcy is either waiting for Trump to run out his term, die, or get neutered when the Democrats retake Congress. So, sacrificing Maduro was probably the smart move.

Being a quisling and collaborator is never a smart move in the end, ask the Kurds.

Still upset the Russians got run out on a rail?
Still happy US installed Al Qaeda are now in power in Syria? as for Russia in Syria they could have prevented the Al Qaeda takeover but for some reason didn't, they had full control of the air and could and should have annihilated that terrorist convoy of Toyota trucks that was allowed to drive down the main highway from Aleppo to Damascus, they also made several other big mistakes when they were there like when Aleppo was liberated they allowed all the jihadi thugs to leave the City with their weapons and settle in Idlib where the Turks armed and trained them again, Putin made the mistake of trusting that Turkish bastard Erdogan, he has made some of the same mistakes in Ukraine, there are some who think he is not up to the job and would take a much harder line when dealing with Nato and the Ukrainians.

He said the published numbers don't actually match the real performance and that they are always understated on purpose.

I had a buddy when I was on Mare Island that worked the power plant on a fast attach boat. And the "things he was allowed to tell me about the capabilities always cracked me up.

Like that his boat was capable of operating in excess of 30 fathoms. For those that do not know, that's only 180 feet. For speed, he was only able to say his boat could operate in excess of 20 knots (around 23 mph). The answers were both completely true, and also completely nonsensical. As submarines back in WWII could operate with ease both deeper and faster.

That is why for a great many things like ship specifications people have long turned to publications like "Janes Fighting Ships". Which will take the actual data published by the various designers and nations that use the ships, then have their own experts examine what is known about them and giving their own analysis of the capabilities.

The U.S. didn’t install Al Queda.

The U.S. didn’t install Al Queda.

This is the kind of stupid level of oversimplification that always drives me crazy. Hell, anybody who has studied the multiple groups in the region knows that the multiple groups that hold that name now in that region have no connection to the original group of the same name.

For those that do not know, none of the various groups that popped up in Iraq or other countries ever had anything to do with al-Qaeda. Iraq in specific was started by Abu Musab Al-Zarqawi in 2004 when he pledged allegiance to bin Laden, and renamed his Jama'at al-Tawhid wal-Jihad to Tanzim Qaidat al-Jihad fi Bilad al-Rafidayn (or more commonly "al-Qaeda in Iraq"). In 2004 and afterwards, a hell of a lot of terror groups suddenly started changing their name to some local form of al-Qaeda, even though none of them actually had any connection to the group. Not unlike decades earlier where slews of groups started appending "Palestine" to the names of their groups to ride the coat tales of the PLO.

Something that even bin Laden himself lashed out against.
