China Halts All Boeing Deliveries (and More)

Dude. YOu are dismissing real life and death issues, with... no reasonable explanation why.

That's as convincing as a heart felt call from a nigerian prince who needs your checking account number.
When and if you comprehend the much more powerful evil force opposing you, you’ll get it.

SOrry. The dems are out to get me and mine. That's real.

I am fighting them. And winning right now, so that's great.

You got other concerns, I'm happy to listen, but I'm not going to stop my fight against the vile dems for no reason.

You’re stuck in the matrix.

You can’t see the forest for the trees.

Who pays those "punitive charges" that negate the enhanced corporate profits that have come from offshoring?

Tariffs are regressive sales taxes falling mainly on working-class and retired Americans including millions of workers who lost their jobs to offshoring.

Trump's "Hail Mary" tariffs confirm what Marx wrote about the final stages of capitalism:

The Economics of a Dying Empire (w/ Richard Wolff) | The Chris Hedges Report

"Unable to expand and generate profits at past levels, the capitalist system will begin to consume the structures that sustain it.

"It will prey upon, in the name of austerity and government efficiency, the working class and the poor, driving them ever deeper into debt and poverty and diminishing the capacity of the state to serve the needs of ordinary citizens."
Tariffs are no different than business taxes. Both are 100 percent passed on to the customer.

Business tax is also paid by consumers. Democrats have no issues with that increase...even though the resulting revenue goes the same place.

And do not try to make the argument that business tax isn't passed on the the consumer. It absolutely 100% is.
Putting aside minor quibbles like competitive pressure and elastic demand, how are you defining business tax? Between 1909 and 2025 the US corporate tax rate averaged 31.99%.

It is currently 21%.

I'm unclear if you think consumers should also be required to pay tariffs in addition to all of the other taxes they pay.

Depends how much of the cost is labor and how much is bullshit markups.

Could be 155$ Could be 300$.

I'm done feeding the dragon. I was done back in the 90s. We should have changed policy then.
Where did you get those numbers?

If the average American making shoes earns about $36,000 a year and a Chinese worker earns $4,500-$9000 a year, those $150 sneakers could retail for $600; how many would you buy?

The dragon's rising as the US falls.

There's nothing anyone can do about that.

We have 4 times the products to retaliate in return

Americans are STARTING to REJECT the U.S. Government.

APR 19

This has never happened before: Throughout the U.S., Americans are turning against ‘their’ Government — not against just the Democratic Party, and not just against just the Republican Party, but against the Government itself, which is supposed to be “their” Government (that represents the public) but increasing percentages of the American people are recognizing that it represents instead ONLY the billionaires — the thousand-or-so people whose donations to those Parties account for around 50% of ALL of the political donations that fuel the political campaigns which select all of the elected officials of the Government; and, so, those political campaigns merely pit the candidates of Republican billionaires against the candidates of Democratic billionaires — but virtually ALL of the winners represent ONLY billionaires, the individuals who have effectively purchased them.

They can affect the middlemen and the countries where the products made may still make a good profit from the product.

The U.S. is in far worse shit than we thought if Boeing can't put a freaking plane together without Chi/Com made parts.

The same people complaining about the tariffs argue, like you just did, that business tax is too low.

I'd rather pay more in Tariffs than to further burden American businesses with more job killing taxes.

Democrats are getting what they want, more revenue for the Federal Government. The pass-thru of increases never bothered them a lick when it was American business taxes they wanted to increase.

So what the fuck are you and they bitchin' about?

Large slave labor force yup.

We can replace that here. Feel free to continue being their Bitch though.
You should worry more about the war and debt slavery in this country instead of criticizing China for its democratic failings.

China has not been responsible for killing, maiming, and displacing millions of innocent civilians on the opposite side of the planet; the U$ has.

Looking ahead: What if Jeffrey Sachs's prediction of Trump's invasion of Greenland (Europe) comes true; how will a majority of Americans respond to that?

You're wrong.

I was born and raised in the USA which qualifies as an accident of birth, at best.

American "mistakes" like embracing chattel slavery and genocide in order to establish white supremacy were not done accidentally or misguidedly, they were indispensable to producing the racist, war-like continental superpower we see today.

Millions of innocent non-white human beings in the Americas and around the world have been murdered, maimed, and displaced by the terror the US has inflicted upon them for over two centuries; this terrorism was not done with "...the best intentions of using our power for the betterment of all.'

It was done to generate vast private fortunes for less than one percent of all Americans, and you find that something to celebrate, right?
