no it doesn't affect everyone.... Most citizens do NOT own any stocks, subject to the capital gains tax...

The majority of citizens who do own stocks, the stocks are in their work 401k, and your 401k is not subject to capital gains tax, your gains are taxed at the same tax rate as your income is taxed.

no it doesn't affect everyone.... Most citizens do NOT own any stocks, subject to the capital gains tax...

The majority of citizens who do own stocks, the stocks are in their work 401k, and your 401k is not subject to capital gains tax, your gains are taxed at the same tax rate as your income is taxed.

Pension funds all own stocks, and they are all subject to capital gains. Furthermore, where do you imagine jobs come from? Do you think companies are going to invest in new plant and equipment if the government is going to tax is all away? Most of the European "socialist" countries you admire do not even tax capital gains or corporate profits.
