The poll, based on a sample of 1,002 registered voters from May 15-18, found Trump’s overall approval rating sits at 39%. That’s the lowest of his second term, and just one point higher than his lowest ever, dating back to October 2017.

Trump’s overall approval has dropped 10 points since the beginning of his term, having dropped 3 points alone in the last month.

Concern about the economy seems to be the predominant worry. Trump’s overall approval on the economy is a dismal 29%, down from an already low 34% in April.

The core issue for him when he took office was reversing the horrible open border policy, getting control of prices to make life affordable for citizens, especially the young who placed a great amount of hope in him.

I do not know about the midterms but 2028 could see a massive swing back to young voters going for a far-left Antifa, open borders Democrat. There will not be a middle of the road Dem even if they work hard to promote them as such.

If the GOP are not trusted by 2028 it could be a very one sided outcome and Trumps legacy will be erased and the MAGA movement presented as not being as advertised.

All the next Dem has to run on is "we will maintain closed borders and eliminate 75% of H1B in the tech sector and decrease Chinese students to 100,000 instead of 500,000" and basically the next GOP running is toast.

The problem for the Dems is that they do not have such a person. If Bill Clinton were running in 2028, the GOP would lose in a landslide barring a major shift by Trump in his last two years.

Once Iran is behind us the approval rating will increase.
The disapproval rating of the democrats have been at historical levels for quite some time. :eusa_whistle:

The Generic Dem rates more than seven points higher than Generic Republicans now. The midterms are always a referendum on the current administration.
