I would start with a 10% across the board cut to every agency over a 3 year period. Let them cut the 10% they do not want and spread it out as our economy does rely on the government. After those 3 years I would then find another 10% to cut but in a more specific way, some agencies have more fat than others.

Eventually I would like to see the end to some agencies, starting with the Dept of Ed.

There is no magic number, and the tax rate is far less important than spending. We do not have a revenue problem in our country, we have a spending problem.
