I own two vehicles both 2003 models. I fix them and drive them, I paid $1500 each and have driven the truck since 2017 and no major problems same with the Buick Le sabre.Yes, I understand that's the system they have learned to live by. I'd agree...first thing that I would check. The fan should blow for the defog of the front windshield no matter what. If it isn't turning, check to see if it's getting power. here's that sword I made..I'm fairly good at fixing stuff like that...ty for the link...I used to work in a machine shop ... I made food carts where we had to install various electrical/plumbing/lighting stuff......I am a sheet metal fabricator....at my old work I programmed [ easy ] the code for a punch press/ ran the press, then ran the brake press to form the punched metal.....the machinist and I made and fixed all kinds of stuff for ourselves

If it is - it's the blower.
If it isn't - it is a fuse or a short
Of course when you check it, make to start the vehicle and have the heater on.
