AC Problems Wont Quit.

Just got back from mechanic....yep his guess is the same as mine....bearings in the compressor...
So....

Yeah....this is gonna be a $1k job.

Clutches are like $60/ea. The labor is what gets ya.

So....I expect to get hosed on this on parts.
$400 for compressor (even though I can get one for 150) and accumulator and new bushings and new o-ring seals...plus oil charge and couple pounds of refrigerant.

It's just an '08. Barely 18 years old......

Tranny is probably gonna go next as a guess.

Well. I just checked AI...
And it seems like there's a distinct possibility the mechanic flubbed the gap spacing when installing the clutch.

That's why it's making a racket at less than 100 miles.

Uggghhhhhh.....hopefully it won't tear up the compressor.

Yeah...but when it gets fixed....it needs to stay fixed.

So household AC tech just left...

I was right....run capacitor looked like a balloon. (Not really that bad but close enough)

And it was under warranty....so....that saved me $35. But otherwise a $100 service call later and I'm cool in my house.
