Zone1 Can We Agree Consent is primary?

7 trans mass shooters killed children at Christian private schools. GIrls molested in bathrooms. Beaten in sports They are most violent culture in America.
You dont make mental illness normal. Thats toxic empathy

We have 600 mass shootings a year. Sounds like a good reason to ban guns, not transgenders.

If transgender is a mental illness (it isn't, but let's play along), then it would be covered by the Americans with Disabilities Act.

About 20 years ago, I worked with a guy who turned out to be Schizophrenic. When his meds weren't working, he engaged in some truly bizarre behavior. But the managers were afraid to fire him because of an ADA lawsuit.

rans can do what they want.

Their “struggle” is not analogous to the civil rights of minorities. Trans is not a protected class. It is a life style choice based on sexual proclivities.

There should be no "protected classes", we should all just have equality.

Which means if Bob wants to be called Sally, we should all just respect that.

Crime went down over the past 40 years and millions more guns were sold. So its not the guns
Most mass shootings are by blacks in democrat cities.
Disability isnt mental illness. The ADA covers physical disability.
As a rate trans mentally ill are the most violent. Thats because they are mentally ill to begin with.
We have violent crime because democrats opened the border and let criminals run free

Yes I do, it is akin to what used to be called a ‘nervous breakdown’ brought on by unfounded hysteria. It’s usually a female attempt to get attention.
And as usual you've made my point for me.

Crime went down over the past 40 years and millions more guns were sold. So its not the guns

Yeah, actually it is the guns.

The only reason why it's gone down over the last 40 years is that the Baby Boomers aged out of the "Doing stupid shit" phase of life.

Compared to Japan, South Korea, or Europe, we have horrific crime stats, fueled by easy access to guns.

These people don't think anything of rape. The way an ISIS operative thinks of women is little different than how MAGA thinks of them.
Hilarious

release the Epstein rape files right

Except- again- a vast amount of research showing the benefits of GAC. I know you like to ignore them, but they are out there.
Studies performed by who? And how many subjects? We know your studies don't hold up to scrutiny, all of the cliche ones that trans-activists try to parade out there are always ridiculously unreliable based on their influences and methods.
Because it doesn't. The only thing it harms is your sexual insecurities.
Ad hominem

Nazi Concentration camps are a tantrum?
They don't apply. Red Herring.
Except no one has proven these doctors are "crazy". Crazy would be picking them up in a van and operating on them. Rather, it takes years to be approved for GAC care, if you can even get your insurance to cover it.
Medical science has gotten so much wrong over the years, even with good intentions.
1. Lobotomies
2. Performing surgeries on babies without anesthesia because they were thought to not be able to feel pain
3. Just about everything COVID (at least in a large portion of medicine based on political influence)
So how do we get them out of it? Send them to a deconversion camp and scream JESUS at them?

Oh, wait, we know that doesn't work.

That's another red herring.
And now we get to the crux of it. You don't give a flying flip about these people, you just don't like that you have to accept them.
I care about them like I care about a morbidly obese person who has a horrible, crippling addiction to food. It's tragic and sad to watch. I want them to overcome their illness and improve. Your logic would encourage them to keep eating more, because they're fine the way they are, and there's no such thing as being "obese".

That's where it's actually you who doesn't care about the long term effects your ideology has on these people. You use them to make yourself feel better.
You live in mortal fear that next week, HR will tell you that Bob has to be addressed as "Sally" from now on. Oh, and use feminine pronouns when talking about her.
yet another fallacy, appealing to emotion. Actually, I'm quite comfortable watching the pendulum swing and watching more and more of society reject it.
Just like people like you got upset when THIS came to an end.

And another Strawman. Are you capable of intellectual debate?

There should be no "protected classes", we should all just have equality.
Of opportunity or outcome?
Which means if Bob wants to be called Sally, we should all just respect that.
You're pulling a Motte and Bailey. The issue is:
1. Grooming children into trans ideology through suggestion
2. The legal application of what a "man" and "woman" is in regards to the law and classification.

You're moving the goal posts and dancing. Stay on topic.

Yeah, if we need "studies" regarding transgender people we should consult religious wackos and the book of genesis right.

That's quite the hasty generalization and ad hominem fallacy mix. Try to stay on topic

Watching a transphobe squeal is always fun.

In short, the studies don't say what you want to hear, so you reject them, even though every scientific study on the subject proves that GAC has benefits.

Oooh, speaking of red herrings. (Oh, the advice on Covid was fine, it's just the flat-earthers didn't like it.)

The problem with these examples is that you really haven't proven why GAC is bad, other than you don't like it.

I care about them like I care about a morbidly obese person who has a horrible, crippling addiction to food. It's tragic and sad to watch. I want them to overcome their illness and improve. Why do I get the feeling you are the sort who goes out and 'fat-shames' people? You seem like the type.

Reality is, weight has very little to do with diet and a lot more to do with genetics. It probably doesn't help that big agra is pumping us all full of hormones from childhood.

That's where it's actually you who doesn't care about the long term effects your ideology has on these people. You use them to make yourself feel better.

Naw, I support them because I know it pisses off the religious assholes that they exist. Just like I support civil rights because I know it pisses off the racists, and women's reproductive rights because it pisses off the misogynists.

Now for the happy day when we end the delusion that there's an invisible man in the sky who cares which hole you are sticking your dick into, that's when we make progress. Talk about a mental illness.

yet another fallacy, appealing to emotion. Actually, I'm quite comfortable watching the pendulum swing and watching more and more of society reject it.

Um, yeah, about that.

Remember in 2004, when George W. Bush rode into the White House by demonizing gay people? And when he won over John Kerry by the slimest of margines, the Homophobes all danced around like they had won the Culture Wars.

And less than a decade later, gay marriage was legal in the whole country. Because at the end of the day, the only argument you had was "I think it's icky!"

The reality is, the pendulum always swings towards MORE inclusion, not less.

Of opportunity or outcome?
If you aren't seeing the outcomes, it's because the opportunities are being denied. CHECK YOUR PRIVILEGE.

You're pulling a Motte and Bailey. The issue is:
1. Grooming children into trans ideology through suggestion

Nobody is "grooming" children. Teaching a kid NOT be a bigot is hardly grooming them. If little Timmy came into class tomorrow and started ranting bout the N-Words and the K-words, (because no doubt, that's what he's hearing at home), then we would no doubt send his little bigoted ass to the school counselors office to figure out what's wrong with him.

Same thing if he starts ranting about "Fags" and "queers"

But no kid is going to say, "Wow, I saw a drag queen reading a story today, please cut off my pee-pee!"

2. The legal application of what a "man" and "woman" is in regards to the law and classification.

Why should there be any classification? We should enjoy, at this point, complete equality. I know you pine for the days when women were barefoot and pregnant, but we've moved beyond that.

Back when the Regressives were fighting against the ERA, there were two arguments

1) Women could be drafted. (Meaningless now, because women serve in combat roles, right alongside the men).
2) It would make seperate bathrooms unconstitutional. (Meaningless because unisex bathrooms are becoming a thing.)

Toxic empathy cant replace reality
That's pretty harsh coming from someone who has supposedly worked in the mental health field for over 30 years. Especially since it's the distress from the incongruence between one's assigned sex and gender identity which is the mental disorder, not being transgender.

Empathy is a crucial component in treating gender dysphoria, primarily through creating a supportive, non-judgmental environment and fostering a strong therapeutic alliance, but it's the clinician's empathy and affirmation, alongside the patient's own self-acceptance, that helps manage distress, not a deficit in inherent empathy by transgender individuals themselves. Gender-affirming care focuses on validating identity, not pathologizing it, using techniques like CBT to cope with anxiety and building self-agency, with empathy being the bedrock for exploring one's true self.

Role of Empathy in Treatment
  • Validation & Support: Empathetic therapists provide a safe space for transgender individuals to express feelings, validating their identity and reducing feelings of isolation.
  • Gender-Affirming Therapy: This approach prioritizes affirming the person's gender identity, with clinicians showing empathy and respect, which is often more important than diagnostic "verification" for accessing care.
  • Building Self-Agency: Empathy helps patients develop a stronger sense of self-acceptance and empowerment, crucial for navigating a world that may not always understand.
  • Managing Distress: Therapy uses empathy to help individuals develop coping strategies (like mindfulness, CBT) for anxiety and depression often linked to dysphoria, focusing on "how" they feel rather than "why".

Distinguishing Empathy in Care
  • Not a Lack of Empathy in Trans People: Research suggests transgender individuals often have unique empathic neural patterns that can change during transition, but the goal isn't to "teach" them empathy; it's to provide affirming care for their experience.
  • Allyship & Social Context: Empathy from family, friends, and society is vital to reduce discrimination and build supportive environments, as highlighted by organizations like The Trevor Project.
In essence, empathy from caregivers and society helps create the conditions where transgender individuals can receive effective, affirming treatment for dysphoria, leading to better mental health and self-acceptance.
