Calling Out Donald H: "Genesis is nothing but lies"..

Nope! You believe that Genesis is an Allegorical accounting and that ain't no stinkin' literal account!. Just get on board with me on that and we're done!

That's not negotiable!

At least you're learned what 'allegorical' means!

Now how about that tower that never was?

I literally just spelled out my position in agonizing detail. It's the adult explanation. Maybe try using it in the future.

Tell me what you think the Tower of Babel is about. Please share with me your highly intellectual understanding of the Tower of Babel. I need to know why you think it's a lie. I'm willing to bet that what you think it means is a lie and what I think it means makes sense.
I have no interest in the babel tower, other than to say it wasn't real and so it's just more god/bible bullsh-t.

I don't even want to know what you think it means.

I was told by a recovered Xtian that it's the god's phallic symbol overkill and I'm going with that until you invent something better.

It takes a lot of nerve for the Christians to believe that the god destroyed the babel tower, but a hell of a lot more nerve for them to believe it!

When they all know very well that the thing never existed!

You mean how you understand it can't possibly be real, right? If the TOB is supposed to be the god's phallic symbol, I would agree with you, but that's not what it is about.

It's about an historical event, the migration from the cradle of civilization - Mesopotamia - to other parts of the world. Is the migration from Mesopotamia a lie?

But that was the allegory. It's like the story of George Washington chopping down a cherry tree. That never happened either. But George Washington was an honest person and that was the reality the author was conveying.

The accounts in Genesis are allegorical accounts of historical events and important truths that were passed down orally for thousands of years before being recorded in writing. We are obliged to read the text as written, which includes literal and symbolic aspects that are properties belonging to the author’s descriptive portrayal of reality.

It's questionable whether or not the event is real history but there's no doubt that the tower was bullh-t. Why do we need to keep repeating the same facts? I've granted you that it could be a meaningful story. I've even looked up the supposed meaning of the story. Relax, we've found real progress in determining that the bibles are not literally true. I call that lies. It doesn't matter to me what you call it.

Probably mostly lies.

Then why won't you be honest and stop trying to make a Christian silk purse out of ....................................... whatever.

If you're still wanting to continue, maybe we should do the Adam and Eve lies next?

It's actually not questionable at all.

There was no tower. The purpose of the account was to pass down information about migration away from Mesopotamia. You have to realize how they wove their views of the world into these accounts to give meaning to the event. In this case, it was the world is not fair, man is not good and we demand God fix it. Pretty much the same story line for the great flood.

So, no. Still no lies. Because you don't understand the story because you are too weak minded to be objective or honest.

I am being honest. I'm giving you sensible explanations for what you are reading and you want to cling to your illogical interpretations that everyone agrees don't make sense. Again... it's not the accounts, it's your choice to read the accounts like an idiot.

What part of Adam and Eve do you consider a lie?

The whole story is lies. It was invented in a time when there was no proof by science to say otherwise.

I couldn't care less about the lying explanations.

We've reached agreement. The bibles are not literally true!

Not quite. All I'm hearing from you are unsubstantiated undefined blanket denials. There's no substance to your claims. You have to compare your idiotic childlike beliefs to my sensible explanations.

I think you need to face the fact that you can't muster anything more than a troll argument. And not a very good one at that. Which is fine because I'm getting balls deep into your panties right now.

So which lie about Adam and Eve do you want to discuss first.

I find the bullring unsatisfactory for my purpose of convincing others of the fact that the bibles are full of lies, as is Genesis.

If the moderators don't allow others to comment here on this thread then I'm outta here too.
