WSJ warns Republicans are whispering something about Trump they won't say publicly

President Donald Trump is dragging the Republican Party down at a moment when it could cost them everything, the conservative-leaning Wall Street Journal editorial board wrote in an analysis published on Friday evening.

"Republicans don’t want to say this publicly, but privately they do," wrote the board, an increasingly frequent critic of the president's policies despite sharing many of his political beliefs. "President Trump’s personal political obsessions are hurting his Presidency, harming the chances for further policy gains the rest of this year, and putting control of the House and Senate in jeopardy."

Who can blame them? Things were already dodgy enough with the insider stock buying, slush fund, inflation, tariffs, the cabinet, ICE in MN, the Iran debacle, and the get out of jail free card relating to cheating on tax returns. Heap on top of that Don saying he doesn't care about people having to spend more on gas with vacation season upon us and.........well........let's just say being saddled with Don as your party leader is suboptimal.

There are undoubtedly many more of them behind closed doors who wishes he'd go away, but they don't have the courage or integrity to call him out publicly. They see what happens to those who do. Trump puts out the marching orders to his cult and the Plebes take them down.

I've said it before. We could have had President DeSantis or President Haley right now and the party would be thriving instead of sinking like the Titanic, but the brain addled Boomers are keeping this guy afloat.

The list of Republicans, moderates, independents, former staffers, former Generals, former attorneys, former Cabinet members and other non-liberals who have come out publicly and forcefully against this orange buffoon is long, indeed.

The useful idiots can't admit that, of course. But the list is growing.

Yes, there are Republicans who oppose the will of the American voter. That includes Reps who were told by the voters that they need to stop colluding with Democrats to move the country further and further toward socialism and authoritarianism.

Democrats will dance on Trump's grave in broad daylight. Some republicans will wait until nightfall.

Republicans are still more popular than your Dimwinger Cult.

Oops!

Definitely not a Dem. I would love for him to be declared insane and placed in a padded room. Or just removed and sent to Corsica, or Mar-a-Lago.

Rumors pass for fact now?

Rawstory? :laughing0301:

The Establishment Republicans are still around, it will be interesting to see if any of them run for the nomination in 2028, and if libs try to get them on the ticket.

Registered republicans keep trying to kill him....

Those establishment types who believe they see light at the end of the tunnel due to Trump's age should do some soul searching about 2028. Trump could stroke out any minute, or he could be robust until well after 2028 is over.

Republican voters have shown in several primaries that they are not interested in electing Republicans whose idea of "bi-partisanship" is siding with the Democrats over one of the most popular presidents of all time.

We've had a couple of presidents lose their office and win it back. That may have happened for Senators, but it must be extremely rare. So they need to not be perceived as fighting Trump on behalf of schumer and Hakeem Jeffries.
