Riot police armed with shields and batons had to disperse a “hostile” crowd throwing bottles at the scene of a suspected shooting and stabbing in Brixton, south London on Wednesday night.
Shielded officers stormed an estate where a party was being held, according to locals, after a man was shot and stabbed in Moorland Road.
Bottles were pelted at officers trying to maintain a cordon with the front window of a police vans smashed in the melee.

Police said they were called by ambulance staff at 9.37pm to reports of an injured man.
A 25-year-old man was found suffering gunshot injuries and stab wounds.
