In a Republic, actually
‘William Saletan, a writer for the conservative website The Bulwark, defends President Joe Biden’s anti-MAGA use of the term “semi-fascism” in an article published on September 1.

“Republicans are furious over President Biden’s recent remarks linking Donald Trump and his supporters to ‘semi-fascism,’” Saletan writes. “For days, they’ve been all over TV and social media, denouncing Biden’s use of the F-word. But Biden was right. Many of the ideas and tactics deployed by Trump and his apologists, including those who decry Biden’s comparison, fit the dictionary definition of fascism.”

Saletan stresses that refusing to accept democratic election results, which is what Trump and his followers did after the 2020 election, is an “authoritarian” act.

“A stickler might say that an attempt to overturn an election isn’t really fascist unless it involves the use of state power or mob violence, but Trump and his allies tried to use both,” Saletan explains. “Rudy Giuliani, Trump’s right-hand man in several abuses of power, says it’s Biden, not Trump, who runs America like ‘a damned dictatorship.’ But in December 2020, after the Electoral College had certified Biden’s election, Giuliani — at Trump’s direction — phoned the acting deputy secretary at the Department of Homeland Security to ask whether DHS could seize voting machines from states. Then, at Trump’s January 6th rally on the Ellipse, Giuliani exhorted the crowd: ‘Let’s have trial by combat!’”

Saletan adds, “Giuliani didn’t just help to incite the attack on the Capitol. To this day, he continues to whitewash it and excuse the perpetrators.”’

More smoke grenades from democrats trying to distract from the disaster Biden and the democrats caused.
75% of voters say the US is on the wrong track...Biden is a perv who molested his daughter in the shower.
I understand why the dems are still screaming about the J6 protest.

Mr. Saletan is neocon, not a conservative at all.

If he was really a conservative, he wouldn't be so anxious to forfeit this political war to Biden and his Antifa allies.

After all, politics is about implementing policies, not "personalities". I could give a shit less how great a guy Brandon or Obama is, if they implement marxism and guys like Saletan refuse to launch a defense, Saletan is useless to me.

Reported as following:
Clean Start violation. If one is going to speak of a “dictionary definition of Fascism”, then it needs to be about actual Fascism, and not about someone merely using the word “Fascism” as an abstract pejorative against beliefs that have nothing to do with actual Fascism.

The same play book was used by your hero, the fascists in Germany in the 1930's.

Are you simply stupid, or do you harbor fantasies of being a camp guard?

In short fascism is basically a dictatorship or authoritarianism. If fits the Democrats more than Republicans.

It was DumBama that made law you must have health insurance of they will steal your money.
It was Biden that tried to force private industry to make sure all their employees had their shot or were terminated.
It's Biden who did force our first responders to take the shot even against their will, or not only would they not be allowed to work, but also not be able to collect unemployment to feed their families.
It's Biden who is trying to go around Congress to buy votes via student loan forgiveness.
It's Biden who forced public schools paid for by local taxpayers to allow weirdos in dresses to compete in female sports activities.

This TDS Republican you speak of obviously didn't think this through very carefully. If anybody is a fascist, it's the Democrat party.

It is a bold move to insult half of the country. That is what Hilary Clinton did six years ago with her denunciation of the “basket of deplorables.” But “deplorables” is so last season. Joe Biden, the Democrats and their media cheerleaders have decided to go one better. They seem to have decided that the best way to win the hearts and minds of the American public is dismiss half of us as “fascist.”

Or to give credit to President Biden, merely semi-fascist.

I wonder what he means by semi fascist. > (my comment)

President Joe Biden made appalling remarks about the Republican Party and their supporters, referring to them as fascists.

Most people are unhappy with this dementia patient in charge, and they think about it every time they get gasoline, go grocery shopping, or can't get products they want. His only hope is to energize his base and that was his goal last night. After all, it doesn't matter how far down in the polls you are. If you can get every single supporter of yours to vote, you can still win an election, or in this case, minimize the damage.

So how can you get most of your constituency voting? Use hate. Hate is the devils tool which explains that background during his hate speech.

Hillary’s “deplorable” comment was deplorable.

And look how that turned out.

We were never perfect, but it seems that this push to "Make America great again" is what is causing the UNITED states to be divided & filled with hate.

Only because the other side is not for making America great again. They're for making America into Europe.

DumBama's motto was hope and change. Nobody wants hope and change for something they love. You don't get married to a pudgy short woman and hope you can change her. You don't pressure her to workout constantly and wear the highest heel shoes money can buy. If that's the way you feel, you never loved her in the first place.

Has anyone ever considered that DJT, his supporters and those of us Conservatives who support many of his ideas even if we don’t support him have realized that Democracy and/or the Republic systems of Government DON’T WORK ANYMORE (if they ever did to begin with)?
