Since Greenland is already in a military alliance with the USA, we could have done this anytime we wanted to.

What is different now? What did Trump “achieve” that we didn’t already have?

If anything, Greenland (and Denmark) are going to be more reluctant to let the US build bases in the island then they were before this whole drama started.

Its going to be tough to get them to go along with Trump's proposals because sadly TDS has spread to Denmark and Greenland... I hope for their own good and security and ours they rethink their stance...

That is not, nor will it EVER ACTUALLY BE, a legitimate threat to Denmark to ever be sanely concerned about. braalian Why aren't you hoping for better security for the USA?... during the cold war and WW2 we controlled Greenland... the USA has blood there from the time we spent in Greenland.... Greenland is geographically part of the North American continent... and with the way China and Russia are behaving we need to be there... Denmark and NATO will agree eventually...

We ARE there. Greenland is part of NATO. None of Trump’s bullying and threats were necessary if this was the goal.

But Trump wasn’t just talking about that, was he? He was talking about taking territory away from another country (an ally!) “on way or another”.
