Why didn’t Trump return them? This is not a negotiable situation. You and I would have been treated that kindly.

If you are going to raid Trump's home because he had classified documents when he shouldn't have and that having them was illegal then why didn't they raid Trump's home over a year ago? They knew he had them then and, apparently, it wasn't a big deal back then. They raided his home now at the bequest of Liz Cheney and Democrats who were demanding that Garland do more to get Trump. And, the DOJ used mere reports in the media as justification for the raid. Since when does the government work for the media and do the media's bidding? In other words, if you are too slow to understand, this was all a political hit job by Democrats in general who pressured the DOJ to be a branch of the Democratic party just before the midterm elections. Meanwhile, they resist anything to do with Hunter Biden because it is just before the midterms and they don't want to influence the election.

It wasn't really a big deal over a year ago with Trump having classified documents at his home but now that the midterms are approaching, they have decided it is a big deal after all, especially with Liz Cheney and the Democrats pressuring Garland to do something. So, being the unbiased and independent head of the DOJ that he is, he took his marching orders from the Dems and decided (independently of course) to raid Trump's home.
