Just wanted to let you know that the building of new houses is still strong in the boston area and the car dealers are still offering credit to first time buyers. I think the media should stop the drama a report just the facts. Yes I know its bad right now so please don't tell me that I do not like the end of the world crap they put out there to scare people.

I'm told that the Northeast is least effected by the decline in property values because we had the least overall growth in home prices in the last decade or so.

Houses are still being bought and sold here in Maine, too, but the time from listing to sale is increasing, and of course the inventory of houses on the market is backing up considerably.

glad to hear it in Maine one thing to remember is that house sales traditionally drop in the winter months not too many people by a house for a christmas gift
