Boehner lashes out at conservatives

The shut-down was a black eye for the GOP - come election time, politicians who do not speak out against it will suffer at the hands of the voters - no matter how much they try to convince people that "it was Obama's fault."

Going to be a real mess in 14 ... Republican civil war will be at the forefront of discussion.

Tea party will get trashed and up-ended as a sacrificial offering unto people who lost work.

Before I gear up. 2014. And I know boards are being driven.

You aint taking nothing. Over my dead body :eusa_angel:

Just wait? Sure, till 2016. No problem. Hillary will be there.

If the GOP has gains in 2014, two years of the GOP once again over playing their hand will lead to another great year for Dems in 2016, just like the two years of GOP/Tea Party stupidity after 2010 led to the Dems' great year in 2014.

I think you read your talking point too quickly and posted way way too soon.

There's a tidal wave coming. And not just against the Dems. The anti incumbent feeling now is stronger than in 2010. People are plain fed up and will vote the rascals out. The Dems will initially glory in seeing McConnell etc defeated. Only to gripe when the TP candidates oust Dems.

The TP candidates are only a serious threat to Republicans at present because the TP is clustered on the extreme right.
The tea party people are the only sane people in Washington right now. This attempt to paint them as extreme is laughable. 25 years ago, these same people would have been considered moderate at best.

The march leftward and this growth of government power and spending MUST be ended.

25 years ago the Cold War was still around. The Republicans supported the Apartheid regime, deficits didn't matter and greed was good. Computers were only for geeks and they were still running DOS. The internet did not exist and there were no browsers or cell phones.

There is NO downside to voting for conservatives in "Republican" primaries. At best the conservative candidate will win the primary and Americans, fed to the gills (Democrats think of them as fish) with Obamacare, will put them in office.

If the conservative candidates lose to yet more RINOs then America will, once again have a liberal government. Won't matter whether it's Democrat or "Republican". The slide will just have to continue for a few more years before people get sick of it.

If it's not time now then it will be once folks get tired of wearing chains. Though, by then, there may be no option.

The shutdown was a black eye for the GOP when it happened. Now it's not a black eye any more it is recognized now as being an attempt to stop just what is happening.

Yes there is somewhat of a civil war in the GOP just as there is somewhat of a civil war among democrats as some democrats want the party to go further left.

Yes, it was a black eye for the GOP.

Yes, it is still a black eye.

There is no GOP civil war: we just catching and expunging far right reactionary renegades.

A government of far right reactionaries would be a disaster.

Repubs are just as guilty as Democrats when it comes to "living outside of their means". They do it to keep their place at the trough. In Republican's case, that would be the defense dept, among other EXPENSIVE golden calfs of theirs.
