Mamdani food lines like the old Soviet food lines

I recall seeing the food lines where soviet citizens lined up for blocks and spent hours to get a bag of groceries. Mamdani brought that system to NY City, I pity those who need the food and wait in long lines. Should he get elected ever again?

They do the same things in America. Instead of getting food to needy people so they can get out there pounding the street finding a job, they make them show up at 5-6AM then sit in line for hours for a shot waiting at getting better food, then after waiting half the day, they give them somewhat marginal food no one could be expected to then go out and make an effort of, and the rest of the people all got food that probably should have been thrown out and would not be considered salable to the average person.

So basically, they give garbage to poor people, then tell them they did them a favor and blame them if somehow, they don't get back on their feet eating stuff most stores could not give away for free.

We call that a social program, then shrug our shoulders when it yields us poor results.

I forgot to add that when these programs fail, we blame the poor people. I mean, sure, probably they deserve some blame sometimes, people fall into poverty for many reasons sometimes their doing and sometimes bad luck, but if the only people you could turn to for food only thought enough of you to make you wait around 6 hours on a weekday just to get food once a week lasting you 2-3 days that stores had to throw away as out of date and spoiled, how motivated would YOU feel, physically, emotionally, to then try to go out there and battle the world and job market?
