Trump said BLOODBATH, and some of you misquoted and mocked Trump and accused him of inciting violence. Not true at all.
Wait one minute! You said Trump's tariffs are no good and "we know who pays for it". Trumps tariffs are keeping this car out of the USA for now.
Is the auto industry prepared for a Bloodbath as Trump said?

LIVONIA, Mich. (AP) — A tiny, low-priced electric car called the Seagull has American automakers and politicians trembling.

The car, launched last year by Chinese automaker BYD, sells for around $12,000 in China, but drives well and is put together with craftsmanship that rivals U.S. electric vehicles that cost three times as much. A shorter-range version costs under $10,000.

Tariffs on imported Chinese vehicles will keep the Seagull out of America for now, and it likely would sell for more than 12 grand if imported.

This was the big push from China and their MSS to make the West dependent on EV. Just as they did with solar panels when they are WAY ahead of the curve and have excess supply which they can dump in foreign nations and crush their domestic companies and production.

Like always, the docile media and their political bag handlers take the bait. Tremendous job by the MSS. One has to stand in awe at how deeply they have infiltrated and influenced Western institutions. All within a couple of decades. Even after covid, no leader (except for Trump) dared to call out China. Millions dead and politicians stay silent?

Wow, That is how you lose faith from your citizens.

The Biden administration is preparing to raise tariffs on clean-energy goods from China in the coming days, with the levy on Chinese electric vehicles set to roughly quadruple, according to people familiar with the matter.

Higher tariffs, which Biden administration officials are preparing to announce on Tuesday, will also hit critical minerals, solar goods and batteries sourced from China, according to the people.

Officials are particularly focused on electric vehicles, and they are expected to raise the tariff rate to roughly 100% from 25%, according to the people. An additional 2.5% duty applies to all automobiles imported into the U.S. The existing 25% tariff on Chinese electric vehicles has so far effectively barred those models, often cheaper than Western-made cars, from the U.S. market.

So, what you are saying is that you think the Fed Govt should do all it can to keep Americans from buying a small, well built reasonably price automobile because our auto makers are not able to make such a thing?

Great fucking plan

Fuck Biden and his tariffs. Both parties fucking love tariffs, which do nothing but screw the American consumer.

they would have to prove it is not a piece of shit like the other crap they put together.....

I saw yesterday that Chinese EV's are subject to a 100% tariff.

China offers EV users a low cost option and Americans are not allowed to purchase it at their price. Instead, you are looking at 4 times the cost to purchase an EV here.

New American cars, any car, cost 2-3 times as much as this EV.

Americans are consistently wanting, and buying, bigger and more luxurious cars.

Not saying that there's not a market for these Chinese cars, but let's get real here OP.

I once witnessed a Tibetan Buddhist monk exercise the option offered by the Chinese communist party. Not pretty.

Unless it meets NHTSA standards, it can't be marketed in the US.

Japan should go Retro and reintroduce the 1986-91 Suzuki Samurai 4x4 Jeep in both Gas and Electric variants for a little more than the Chinese Rig
