Actually, it’s even worse than that: in government, a ”cut” is srill an increase….just not as high as the previous year. So if one’s department budget was increased by 6% one year and then just a 4% increase the next, the employees call it a cut.
Because that is a defacto cut when factoring in inflation AND increased demand of services.
Social Security and Medicare are going to increase because more people are retiring than entering the workforce.
But since you are a fiscal conservative and all, maybe all your fellow conservatives should off yourselves at age 65 to not put strain on the budget.
