Democrat Sheila Cherfilus-McCormick has resigned from Congress following an investigation that found she committed more than 20 ethics violations, including breaking campaign finance laws.

Cherfilus-McCormick is accused of laundering some of the Federal Emergency Management Agency (Fema) money into her 2021 election campaign.

About darn time....Near five years that had been going on.

WASHINGTON, April 21 (Reuters) - Democratic U.S. Representative Sheila Cherfilus-McCormick said on ‌Tuesday she is resigning from Congress after a panel found she violated ethics ⁠rules.
"The Ethics Committee refused my new attorney's reasonable request for time to prepare my defense," she said in a statement.

Cherfilus-McCormick ‌added, "Rather ⁠than play these political games, I choose to step away so ⁠that I can devote my time to fighting ⁠for my neighbors in Florida's ⁠20th district."
