They agreed that in fact Trump did illicitly hold up aid to pressure Ukraine to investigate his political opponent....but they felt that his removal should be descided by the voters. Voters for their part did just that when they removed him in 2020 election.

Consistent with those concerns we've pressured Ukraine to remove their corrupt prosecutor who was refusing to do his damn job and enforce law on rich and powerful people in Kiev, while somehow managing to live a lavish lifestyle on modest public salary.

Zelenky's political platform has been PRIMARILY that of clean, transparent governing and it was at Americas's insistance that for the sake of political stability once in power his administration refrained as much as possible from criminally prosecuting the political opposition.

And then there is Trump, who corruptly holds up aid to Ukraine and tells their President to go do him favors by announcing investigations of his political opponent. In other words to DO EXACTLY WHAT WE TOLD THEM NOT DO IN THEIR OWN COUNTRY. That makes us look like assholes and hypocrites of the highest order. Do as we say, not as we do.
