He doesn't want to talk about how his socialist policies have failed in other countries.

"Univision anchor Leon Krauze asked Sanders, “I am sure that you know about this topic: various leftist governments, especially the populists, are in serious trouble in Latin America. The socialist model in Venezuela has the country near collapse. Argentina, also Brazil, how do you explain that failure?”

But thanks for the corropt Booosh/GOP world depression and mindless obstruction of solutions. We're the only country that can wreck the world economy, or fix it. Great job, greedy GOP megarich and silly brainwashed dupes.

So do the capitalist ones. Venezuela is more based on oil prices than anywhere else.
Sander's platform is based on the good things socialism does for all the people and that it has worked well in other countries. When asked about the failures of socialism in other countries he says he's too busy running for president to talk about it.

Maybe he should have used the Big Oil line to explain why there are people in Venezuela so poor and hungry that they are picking garbage and eating their pets.

He also doesn't want to talk about how the Nordic Nations that built dynamic economies under free market policies and then squandered much of the wealth generated by those economies during their flirtations with enormous welfare states and high taxation are now altering their policies back to free markets and low taxation.

Same story with all socialists, they all regurgitate the same self defeating argument put forward by Marx to wit: "There is always corruption at the top" and then go on to claim that the way to battle corruption and economic injustice is to make "the top" more powerful and more expensive.

The only difference between the proposals of Chavez and Sanders is degree, the results will end up being the same over time.

He should have tried the old "Bbbbbuuuut Socialism will work this time!!!:

Which of Sanders' specific policy proposals are proven failures?

The far righties want to talk about Venezuela but not Sweden when it comes to economics.

Or you could talk about all the success in countries more like ours, like EU, Oz, NZ etc. With our natural resources, we'd do even better, rather than our theme of corrupt GOP bubbles and Dems obstructed by mindless GOP...

Venezuela, South America, and the return of the oligarchs

Venezuela’s current President, Nicolas Maduro, was one of Chavez’s closest allies and supporters. He took over the presidency pledging to continue radical reforms that his predecessor initiated and inspired. Under the aegis of the Bolivarian Constitution, its achievements are a matter of record.

The mass literacy program initiated by the Chavez government, in cooperation with Cuba, was the biggest and most ambitious ever undertaken, its success acknowledged by UNESCO in 2005, when it declared Venezuela ‘illiteracy-free territory’. Cuba also played a key role in the establishment of health clinics throughout the country, designed to provide free healthcare to the poor.

Meanwhile, according to the UN – measured against life expectancy, health and education - the quality of life of Venezuelans improved at the third highest rate in the world under Chavez between 2006-11. Additionally, poverty was cut from 48.6 percent in 2002 to 29.5 percent by 2011. Venezuela also had the lowest rate of income inequality of any country in Latin America and the Caribbean at the time of Chavez’s death in 2013.

In order to achieve such outstanding results, the Chavez government waged war against the country’s economic elite within, seizing the assets of over 1,000 companies, and also without, nationalizing oil fields that were owned by US oil giants Exxon Mobil and Conoco Phillips. He also demanded a larger share of the revenue from other international oil corporations operating in the country.

Socialism doesn't work. That being said, there is corruption at the top in every aspect of america....public sector and private sector....I will stake every last dollar I have on it. This is an undeniable truth.
