But is now the time they will replace him....they need to time it right so whoever they replace him with will have enough time in the office to be seen as the defacto next President, with enough time to deny any blame for his policies....

The fact that they rigged their primary for Biden tells you there's nobody else in the party to replace him with. Bernie was about to run away with the primary win so they panicked and rigged Biden in there. Now they are up a shit creek without a paddle.
