Peter Schweizer said former Senate Majority Leader Harry Reid enriched himself and his family by leveraging his political power.

Susan McCue, Harry Reid’s former chief of staff, said Reid was always assessing a person’s vulnerabilities in order to “disarm, to endear, to threaten, but most of all to instill fear.”

“The question is … if you’re really in private practice much at all over the course of 40 years and you’re serving in various government posts, how do you get this wealthy?” Schweizer asked.

Schweizer recalled Reid pushing an infrastructure project that increased the value of some property he owned.

“In 2005, he’s a senator, he puts in an earmark to build a bridge in Bullhead City in Nevada for $18 million dollars — across the river joining Nevada and Arizona. The Arizona delegation said, ‘This is ridiculous. It’s not worth it. There’s another bridge further down the road. It’s not needed.’ But then you found out he had a parcel of land near the bridge, which was eventually built with taxpayer money. And the land valued at $400, was worth $1.6 million after the bridge was built.”

“The other part of [Reid’s] machine was his family — a big family — his sons Rory, Key, and Joshua were all lobbyists while he was a senator. His son-in-law, Steve Barringer, was also a lobbyist, and if you wanted anything done in Nevada or in Washington, DC, — you were expected to hire one of his kids to effectively lobby his office."

In 2011, a Chinese company called ENN wanted to build a $5 billion renewable energy facility in Nevada. Harry traveled to China to actually meet with the executives there. When he came back, executives of their U.S. affiliates started donating to his campaigns, to his PACs, [and] they hired his son Rory to a large fee to lobby and represent them.”

“Then there were reports that Harry Reid actually went to NV energy — which is the largest utility in Nevada — and was pressuring them to sign up this Chinese company as their first contract.”

A male Pelousi, a real scumbag

He'll be remembered best as an outright liar.

Harry Reid, D-Nev. has no regrets about his 2012 claims that then presidential candidate Mitt Romney paid no taxes for 10 years.

The outgoing Senate Minority Leader even bragged to CNN that the comments, which had been described as McCarthyism, helped keep Romney from winning the election.

"They can call it whatever they want. Romney didn't win did he?" Reid said during a wide-ranging interview.

It's pretty well known that Reid, as NV's gaming commissioner in the 70s was in bed with, and enriched by, the Mafia that held sway in Vegas and Reno at the time.

Reid was a first order POS, his only saving grace was that he did put a lid on the more retarded dem notions around gun control.....Well that and the Reid Rule around federal judges/SCOTUS. ;)

Harry Reid was dirtier than the bottom of the sewer.
He ran the federal government without a budget for 3 years to hide the Democrat corruption.

Reid & Xiden are the same guys, pure & only politicians. Reid had something Xiden doesn't though, which is intelligence, but fuck was he twisted too.

Reid was BIG business for big business in Nevada, he was no more than an economic's booster for those who scratched his back. The guy was very powerful, and the reason was strictly because of wealth that supported he and vise versa, I speak as someone with some knowledge of it.

The former Rush Limbaugh's show was based on World Wide Wrestling where you'd have good guys and bad guys only instead of wrestling, it was politics.

The former Rush Limbaugh worked like a dog to make Harry Reid the villain.

And it worked.

Hillary too.

Mayor Dinkins, and dozens more.

When an unethical politician dies, the Establishment and the State Media just circle the wagons and say the nicest things about him.

But everyone knows that he was a ruthless and not very nice human being.

That's just how the cookie crumbles.

Anyway, in a few days, most people will be asking, "Harry who?"
