Zone1 Banning books is wrong

Why are “books” so exalted? We have the printing press. We have mass reproduction of information. Books are “recycled” everyday and no one cares. “Burn” them and watch out.

Given that libraries and other public entities have a budget limit on how many books they can buy or store, some books will not be selected. Does that mean the non-selected books are banned?

A craze that seems to have run its course.
It seems to be less popular than it was lasst year. Maybe everything has been banned.
Im going to put forward an unpopular viewpoint.
I agree with the first amendment.
Thats one of the more unpopular parts of the US constitution.
I dont believe in banning books. I dont believe in banning ideas that I dont like.
Thats a bit unfashionable these days.
Nobody ever told me what I could or couldnt read.
I think reading stuff makes you a more balanced adult. Better educated.
Many of the book bans centred on Gay topics.
I think they should be available to youngsters.
Firstly they would help teens growing up and struggling with it.
Secondly it would combat the hate that we see on these boards which is a stain on america.
Much of that uses a faux religous cober for outright prejudice.
I think better educated kids will be happier kids less likely to kill each other.
Of course there needs to be some streaming of titles. Some books would be wasted on kids if they are too young to appreciate them. But not banned by zealots.
A b etter informed world is a better world.

This condition shouldn't be normalized as something that's natural. That there's something that's causing this disorder. And by normalizing it will prevent others from doing any investigation on the cause. That they know that introducing high amounts of a certain sex hormones to the fetus during the early stage of the fetus can disrupt the sex of the fetus. And women who only been having girls and all of a sudden, she has a boy that the boy most likely turnout to be gay because her womb is polluted with female hormones from previous deliveries and birth control pills that are made of female hormones.

I believe a woman should fast for 3 days and eat only organic foods for a month before being impregnated to lower the chances of any disorder to her unborn child

In my opinion, if they could only have one amendment from the Bill of Rights, the First Amendment would be the one the huge majority of responsible Americans would choose.

But real Americans--those who embrace the values, traditions, principles incorporated into the Constitution that made this the greatest nation on Earth--also believe children should be protected from many adult influences and be allowed to enjoy their childhood in blessed innocence.

So we have rigid rules for what is acceptable for children to see during the day or prime time on television in this country. We have rating by age systems movies, DVDs, videos, electronic games, live perforances, magazines and such. We have parental controls for smart TVs, phones, gaming systems. It would make no sense for public and school libraries to not also have rules about what is age appropriate for children.

That is not banning books. In a responsible culture, it is protecting children.

My sister is lesbian you ignorant baboon.

I don't care who a person sleeps with SO LONG AS THEY AREN'T A CHILD!

I suggest you stop supporting pedophiles.
How ironic that Tommy Tainant should be the one promoting paedos, since he's always on about Trump's alleged, albeit completely unconfirmed by any victims, misdoings.

There are no book bans in the US

All schools control their curriculum and decide which books to include and which ones not to include. Typically that is not even decided by the school but by administrators and politicians.

Those books are still available elsewhere to the general public.

Wehave seen no such hatred you have imagined it
