Wow, so you hear what you want to hear, that must be an awful way to go through life.

1. The cost of the Prison industrial complex is far higher than more social programs.

2. The Second Amendment has been misinterpreted as a universal right to gun ownership, which was never the intent of the Founders.

3. No, just be realistic about it. You can't fix addiction by incarcerating poor people. Rich people get rehab and amazingly, they never commit crimes afterwards. How about doing that with poor addicts?

I despised Rush Limbaugh, but I never thought he should have gone to prison because he became addicted to painkillers. The difference is he had the affluence to get access to rehab and good lawyers to keep him out of jail.

4. I didn't say to increase incarceration. Most of these people could be treated on an outpatient basis. The problem was when the courts closed the mental hosptials, the GOP cut funding for health care to give tax cuts to rich people.

No, most of these things haven't been tried. Regarding gun control, Chicago used to have fairly sensible gun laws. Then the McDonald decision nullified them, and we got crime shooting through the roof.

States don't have the right to blatantly allow criminals to stamp on individual rights. They do have the right to decide how they will handle that. When they DON'T handle that at all they are in contempt of the Federal Constitution and Bill of Rights. The Purpose and Functions of the National Guard​

There are three main roles of the National Guard when it comes to protecting their country, their state, and the people within.

They are as follows.

• Domestic law enforcement measures.
• Dealing with state emergencies.
• Foreign military action.

Absolutely, but the president can only do this if its to quell an insurrection, otherwise, it requires the governors request.

There is no insurrection so, I dont see how he could do this.

We need to be real careful how we want to support these things, because there will come a time when there is a democrat president who might want to do the same thing, and the right will have no excuses, if they let this go through.

Ok, so in all of those 7 times, were any of them constitutional? I don't see them being so. If the governor didnt call up the guard on his own, the president should have taken spoken with the governor and urged action.

Also, beyond that, the circumstances were quite different. Yes, crime is bad in some cities, but those 7 instances were surrounding major riots. Im not saying that makes it right, but it is a different situation.

If we're not going to follow the cotus, how can we expect the left to do it when they are in power?
