Baltimore Reparations Fund Plagued by Infighting and Struggles for Control

LOL The Baltimore Community Reinvestment and Reparations Commission

Looks like a whole lot of poor, ignorant black folk with their hands out wanting to extort a lot of money out of white people.

Remember how leftists said the problem with this country’s educational system is the lack of money?

That article only talks about proficiency in math. Who needs math anymore? Our schools are no.1 in understanding Critical Race Theory and Transgenderism. Let's see if China can beat us in those two! Understanding that there are hundreds of genders is so much more important to a modern society. Actually, the best thing America's schools could teach our young is how to set up a Learing Center.

I hope leftists start learning Cantonese and Mandarin. They are gonna need to speak, read, and write 30 years or less from now.

Well, I, for one, am not surprised. These schenes are all about the grift.

The more the money, the greater the grift and the more hands demanding a share.

When the state of Maryland legalized marijuana for personal use a few years ago, it designated a percentage of sales to be put in a special fund, which would be used in part to pay reparations for slavery and to fund various social programs.
The fund now contains upwards of $35 million, but almost none of the money has been paid out because of an ongoing power struggle to control it between pretty much everyone involved in the program. Who could have predicted such a thing?
FOX News reports:
…. The Baltimore Beat reported that the $35 million in revenue from the recreational cannabis tax has not reached residents yet due to infighting between City Hall and the Community Reinvestment and Reparations Commission, a 17-member body established in November 2024 to oversee how the funds are distributed.
Since Maryland legalized recreational cannabis three years ago, “not a single dollar has reached the people it was meant to help, and the first round of funding may still be a year away,” the report said.
“The City Hall says the mayor has final say, while commissioners maintain the body was created to independently manage the funds,” the Beat reported.
“That holdup means that while Maryland’s legalization of cannabis in 2023 led to over $1.1 billion in sales over the following year alone, even as Black communities continue to be targeted by the drug war, none of it has helped repair that damage,” the article explained.

The only ones who deserve reparations are the slaves themselves and they are long gone. There is no system for distributing reparations which would be fair and legal. Do we just find proven slave descendents? If one black person is a proven descendent but is now a multi-milliionaire, do they get reparations? Do we give reparations to one black family descended from slaves and not their black next door neighbor who was not descended from slaves? Do we give reparations to a black family bringing in 100K per year and not to their Hispanic neighbors who are dirt poor? Do we just blanketly give reparations to all blacks but no white women, no Hispanics, no Irish, and no other minorities? Do we only seek out descendents of slaves only originating from Maryland? Do we give reparations to slave descendents now living in Maryland, even though their ancestors orginated from somewhere else? What about all of the victims of child slave labor?

There will never be reparations, but there will always be vote pandering.

I'm sure with the "Fund" Democrats will find a way to steal most of it behind the "receivers" back. :P

But cannabis is slavery. Ask any pothead to quit for six months and see what happens.

If you don't believe me, ask Moonglow.
You won't overdose from cannabis but it is MUCH more powerful than it was 20 or 30 years ago. They say it isn't addictive but you are right, the daily users of weed find it VERY difficult to stop.

The synthesized stuff is far more powerful. The cat is out of the bag now.
