Average teachers pay vs average pay.

I said it was on par with my teacher friends - low 100s. That’s more than enough to make the point.

The kids with IQs averaging 105 majoring in education end up earning $100,000+. They’ve done quite well for themselves.

The problem isn’t the money. The problem is the liberal control of the education system, which has turned public schools into a joke. I just drove past a school bus stop this morning, and half the kids were wearing their pajama bottoms.

You made that up. Like you always do.

Good catch, Todd. And, there's usually no more than three kids at a bus stop. So I guess half of that is 1.5.

Teachers earn more than those they have educated. So why do they complain about their pay?

Teachers: $66,000
Their graduates: $61,000
Old saying:
"Those who can do, do.
Those who can't do, teach."

OR;

"A" students teach "B" students how to work for "C" students."

I'm fine with that. Let the states dole out money and use the saving to pay down the debt.

Cancel TItle I, Cancel Funds for SPED, Cancel Pell Grants, Cancel new Student Loans.

Win/Win.

WW
Why cancel? States can do all that.

Why cancel?

Because people want Federal involvement with educating poor kids, Special Education services, and assisting American's going to college and trade schools ended.

OK, end it.

States can do all that.

Agreed.

Use the money to pay down the debt and let the states handle funding education within their state.

Who says people want “federal involvement” in their kids’ education? They HATE what the liberal Dept of Education has turned the public school system into.

States can handle the special needs kids and distributing money for college and trade schools, using the billions that the Dept of Education has been wasting.

The Department of Education has no control, zero, zip, nadda - control over local school curriculum. That is a function of State DOE and local school boards.

States can handle the special needs kids and distributing money for college and trade schools, using the billions that the Dept of Education has been wasting.

I'm fine with the states funding money to college and trade school.

We can use the savings of federal $$$ to pay down the debt.

That’s not true. They’ve set national requirements.

The states will use the federal $$$ being wasted at the Ed Dept to administer their own programs.

True. They want to place special needs kids in with normal kids. Entropy results.

Yes, and they do it because they say it’s “better” for the special needs kids. In the meantime, it interferes with and reduces the quality of the normal kids.

We should go back to “tracking” - like I had in elementary school in the 60s. For each grade, we had a “bright” class, a couple of “average” classes, and the “slow” class. This way everyone got to work to their potential, rather than dumb things down to the lowest common denominator.

False.

The ED does not set curriculum standards.

Wait what?

You fine with wealth redistribution, taking money from well off states and redistributing that money through the Feds to poorer states?

Nope, just cut the ED and let each state fund it's own education programs. Stop taking money from states like California, New York, New Jersey, etc. and shifting money to Oklahoma, Louisiana, Mississippi, etc.

That way it becomes state choice. Some states will invest in education, others will say screw the children.

Oh trust me, it goes well beyond just kids being academically behind. Kids with severe behavior issues are in our classes. We can't touch them, so the entire class must be evacuated. This happens over and over and over in almost every school across the nation. Believe me, "indoctrination" is nothing to this problem, but it's highly politically incorrect to discuss it AND too many special needs parents don't care about other children's experience, sadly (not all by a long shot, but too many for sure).

In Alabama, federal requirements mandate annual standardized testing in reading/language arts and mathematics for students in grades 3-8 and once in high school, as well as science at least once in grades 3-5, 6-9, and 10-12.

Federal required testing. Forcing

TEACH THE TEST

Where specifically in that local school district document does it show us that Alabama's testing is a federal test that is designed and Feds force the State to take those tests.

Thanks.
