Good luck to her finding a job in the private sector that pays $62,000 to start.

Teachers only get paid that in very, very high cost living places as a starting salary. You know this and are being disingenuous.

Pretty much everyone overestimates their value to society.

Most people’s value consists of their harvested donor organs after they’re gone.

Well I'm not a marxist, and even though I was in the military and Trump thinks I'm a sucker and loser - I'm not that either.

1. Administers grants to low income school districts to support hiring additional teaching staff to lower student teacher ratios.

2. Administers grants to schools to help support the expense for Special Needs students with IEP under the IDEA.

3. Administers Pell Grants to allow lower/middle class students to opportunity to attend seek a post secondary education.

4. Administers the Student Loan program to all students to attend a seek post secondary education.

5. Administers apprentice and trade programs to assist students with the acquisition to trade skills.

6. Facilitates national tracking of education programs and consolidation of information across all 50 states, D.C. and US Territories.

Just a few off the top of my head.

States can do all you listed.
 
Cost of living affects salaries and wages respective to where they are located. There's no national standard. Being a teacher is an important job, but they too are subject to this as everyone should be.
