I don't care about her personal flaws. Capitalism must be managed carefully. We can't look for every excuse to deregulate and decrease controls.
The Randians who have taken over "conservatism" have somehow been convinced that management and controls are a bane to capitalism, when the fact is they are a key and necessary component of capitalism.
The Meltdown should have taught them that, but they are refusing to admit what happened.

I'm surprised you can type that with a straight face. The one grain of truth that you
might grab onto is that most claimed efforts to deregulate don't. They re-regulate, in a way that is advantageous to the current administration. That's about all we ever get. The regime in power tweaks regulations to suit their lobbyists and punish their enemies. Always with damaging side effects in the regulated markets.
Effective deregulation, the kind real free market advocates want, means taking government out of the role of regulating altogether. Republicans never even attempt that, no matter how much Rand they've read. They like power just as much as the left.
