Trump and the US government have approved the sale of high accuracy bombs and other weapons sales to Saudi to use against the Houthi in Yemen. I do not have the details but Saudis will spend hundreds of millions over the next ten years. The Houthi militia are backed by Iran. The Saudis do not want a Shia regime on their border.
It is said Biden opposes the deal but if the congress has approved it what can he do about it?

The Houthis religious practices are closer to Sunni than Shia.. That's not the problem. The Saudis have propped Yemen up with healthcare and education, job creation, infrastructure ,food and medicine, gasoline for 40 years. They don't want a failed state of their border.

I was against walking away from the deal also, if verification was possible. Strategy depends on whether you want it stopped or put off. I cannot say strategy is wrong as I have never seen any successful strategy on this issue employed anywhere else. Very possible Iranians are like Republicans, willing to see everything burn if the cannot get their way, no matter how many outside their tribe would rather live in peace. Pretty dangerous.

I too look at it as a strategic reserve and one that may very well be more valuable later to all involved. I hope President Biden uses an evenhanded approach. I do not see him killing that industry, but attempting to balance competing interests, at least where public lands are involved.
