Why did Trump slap an embargo on VZ? Venezuela has always refined Iranian oil. Iran has very little refining capacity of its own.

Better in the short term only. I doubt they would be as far along, had it remained in place, but would not have solved the problem. Just another way of kicking the can down the road.
