Since I'm a free man, I can wave whatever I want, but I don't wave anything. I do have a Southern Cross—it's small, folded, and put up somewhere. I don't even know if I could find it if I wanted to. But a free man is free to wave anything he wants, except in time of war. In war, freedom can be limited depending on the needs of the war effort. In time of war, everything is secondary to national defense, even personal desires, opinions, and heritage.
When I was in the military, I was a dedicated military man. I expressed no opinions that might be an impediment to the mission of the Air Force. I can't say that was true for the liberals I encountered.
The military is about conformity. Those who cannot conform do not belong—at least not in any position of responsibility. That includes people who insist on growing beards when the commander says otherwise. Some argue that Black service members should be exempt from that rule because of how hair growth interacts with their skin, but I say conform. There is always electrolysis
