The United States will eventually adopt socialism out of necessity due to advanced automation and AI. The more efficient production becomes the less need there is for wage-labor, hence the necessity to adopt a non-profit mode of production. This is inevitable, to the point that even billionaires recognize this.

UBI or "Universal Basic Income" is a bailout ploy for the rich, where the government sends all of their customers a monthly check, with the hopes that they will use that money to buy the products and services that the rich are selling. UBI is capitalism on life support. These billionaires see the writing on the wall, due to advanced 21st century automation technology and AI. Socialism is the non-profit system of the future, that will replace capitalism, just as capitalism replaced chattel slavery and feudalism.
