And Will They Ever Stop Saying,"Yah,But Hillary Got More Votes!!".? No One Cares Anymore !

donald-trump-electoral-college-tweet.jpg

He only said that at the time because it appeared Romney might win the popular vote and lose the electoral vote.

:bang3: It's been two weeks now, and the loonies are still being crybabies on cable news shows, still bringing up the fact that Hillary got more votes, therefore Trump shouldn't be President. Yet, these blockhead commentators also know that up to 4 Million of the votes came from illegals from the whole west coast/chicago and the northeast.
:eusa_sick:
Did these rats also take notice that Trump had the most votes coming in until the end of the night when Finally the west coast states started calling in their totals? This happened with Al Gore too! Bush was ahead,{although by a small margin}, then later California called in their votes,super-seeding the Bush votes, and finally Bush won Florida sending Al Gore off to the North Pole looking for bears living on sheets of ice. :dunno:

I think we should say it for just about as long as Donald Trump said Obama wasn't born in the US.

It's like a mental illness. "Your guy has crabs, but we only got sif". That kind of stupid.

For the record, it's spelled "syph". As in "syphilis".

It's very hard to take someone seriously when they can't effectively use their own mother tongue.
See a doctor, I think they can still cure it.

For the record, since you're being a spelling Nazi, "As in syphilis" is not a sentence.

Yes, I know it's not. This isn't an essay, Brain Trust. It's a conversation.

And I'm not a spelling or grammar Nazi. I'm a grammar Jedi.

Why is it that imbeciles always try to defend their illiteracy by trying to demonize the concept of doing things correctly? If I tell you that 2 + 2 does not equal 5, are you going to call me a math Nazi?
You seem to dish it out, but obviously you can't take it.

It's very hard to take someone seriously when they can't effectively use their own mother tongue. ;)

Minority rule.....what a concept

Take the massive populations of New York and California out of the equation, and Trump wins the popular vote by a landslide. Should we be doomed to forever allow California and New York determine the outcome of every Presidential election?

Further, I was just reading that Michigan did recount and all 3,000 additional votes they found went to Hillary--what are the odds of that really being the case in so close an election? Nevertheless, Trump still won Michigan.

And nobody, and I mean NOBODY has asked for a recount in any state that Hillary won by a narrow margin.

All this bru ha ha about demanding recounts or overturning the election via a corruption of the electoral college, etc. just makes intellectually honest people walk away muttering.
Foxfyre, in today's atmosphere you cannot be blamed for being suspicious, but there really is another side and I am woefully inadequate to present an argument out of sheer lack of objective articulation, since I am way too touchy-feely. As a Michigander I see how the vote for Trump worked, although I have never believed that crowds or mobs are always right, just like a majority favored invading Iraq because a bunch of Saudis that trained in Afghanistan knocked down our Towers. (I only drag out that old saw as an example of how a majority can err, so please don't make that issue the point of this argument.)

I haven't looked lately, but for years, who has been subsidizing those fly-over states? Even in our current dire straights, I believe Michigan still receives back about $0.94 of every dollar it forks over to the feds compared to the $0.72 it once received.. and who gives the current extra $0.04 to bright red Mississippi? Nobody I know has ever begrudged sharing wealth with other States when it is possible. So the coasts may have the majority population and Kansas is sparse, yet it is hands-out Kansas that gets to determine national issues for both coasts? Now we have for the second time in 16 years an election where the winner of the popular vote loses. I am not, nor are most others, contesting this election. But for the future, I'm thinking there will be changes, and it is best to face them soon rather than in a heated knee-jerk atmosphere.

Y'know, the only time I've seen references to Hillary getting more votes is in response to Republicans crowing about how 'the people have spoken'. It is irresistible to not point out that about 1.5 million more of them spoke for Hillary than Trump. It is a reminder that you do not have a mandate. Also, nobody believes the 4 million illegal votes either. p.s. Is that a symbol of you head banging a brick wall?

Exactly....that goddam Fox News was calling it a mandate!

The electoral college was established to fulfill a need. During the late 1700's, early 1800's people had to ride a mule or the rich ones travel by buggy just to cast a vote. It was to accommodate the activity of everyone voting. It should be done away with and whoever gets the most votes should gain the office. Don't you remember? Daniel Boone killed a bar.

And I'm sure that if the situation was reversed, where hillary won the electorals, and Trump won the popular vote, you'd still be outraged, Right?
Probably not outraged, Jason. We know how the system is set up, and understand that's the way the mop flops. So far, I haven't seen anyone issue a call to arms. I like to think that if the situation were reversed I would still think it unfair.

We are no longer a country where it takes days and weeks for news to travel. The people of South Podunk know what's up at the very same time the people in Times Square learn the news. They all hear the same speech at the same time. Every State has 2 Senators no matter what the population. The Electoral college, meant to keep the people in remote areas protected from laws and representation determined by more populous regions, is no longer necessary. And when over 2 million more votes are cast for the loser than the winner...there has to be a message in there somewhere for all of us. This has happened twice in this century. It's becoming a habit. We need to hammer out a better way so that each vote really does count.

Both parties planned on winning electorals first. They knew they needed the magic 270 to have a chance. Trump just planned better than your candidate.

Are you stupid?

Clinton's lead in the popular vote surpasses 2 million

A half-dozen electors, those who will formally cast votes for Trump and Clinton on Dec. 19, are pushing to block Trump from winning a majority of votes.

Are you stupid?

The EC does not vote for the popular vote of the entire country, they vote to represent the voters of their state.

I'm 82 years old. I studied high school civics in 1951. I was against the electoral college then. It's one of the most antiquated things our government does. It is to the 21st century a hangover of idiocy. The forebears weren't perfect. They owned slaves and the only guns they were familiar with were single shot cannons and muskets. Thomas Jefferson believed the constitution should be updated to match the times every twenty years. We've amended it dozens of times but some of it is a crock of shit. The electoral college falls into that category. When more people believe Hillary should be the president by god she should be the president.

See....I don't believe crazy people should carry guns but America does it anyway:

Gun Violence Archive

When more people carrying mexican flags believe hillary should be prez, you should say. Grab our guns while bringing the poor from the third world to vote democrat is what it's all about. I've seen parts of california overrun with mexicans the last 30+ years, most of them illegals who finally become citizens and now vote. Why allow a path to citizenship and voting to people who break our laws as their first act of coming here?

Report: Trump’s Margin In Wisconsin Shrinks By Thousands Of Votes Ahead Of Recount

Even ahead of the forthcoming recount in Wisconsin, Donald Trump’s lead has already shrunk to just 22,525 votes. That means 18% of his “lead” has already vanished, based on precincts catching some of their own incorrect numbers, and internet gawkers catching others. But the second thing that jumps out is that the revisions have served to erase thousands of votes from Trump, while affirming that Clinton’s vote total was essentially correct to begin with.

It is satisfying to know that the Moon Bats feel life is unfair because Crooked Hillary won the popular vote with the help of the illegals. We love to see Liberal tears and to see them whine like little school girls.

Perhaps they should move to a country where the rule of the mob elects the leader. Cuba would be a good choice. Only one party there and they are far left like the Moon Bat assholes so they should be in hog heaven.

Kansas does not get any say in who controls both coasts, but with roughly 1% of the U.S. population it does get slightly over 1% of the EC votes. That gives it a small but real voice in who the President will be.

New York and California combined have roughly 20% of the U.S. population heavily weighted Democrat in the largest population areas, and together have 89 EC votes or roughly 20% of the total EC votes. So those two states matter in the EC far more than Kansas does, but Kansas does have a voice.

The Founders knew that the EC vote would likely not correspond to the popular vote in every election and in fact six times in the history of the U.S.A., the popular vote has exceeded the EC vote. But the EC vote does ensure that Kansas matters on however small a scale. Because no state is going to be ideologically pure at any given time, a popular vote would be controlled by New York and California pretty well every single time.

Again take NY and CA out of the equation, and Trump wins the popular vote by a landslide.

It is for certain that if NY and CA were weighted heavily Republican or something other than Democrat, we wouldn't be having this discussion now.

Not only do you confused Moon Bats not understand the electoral process defined in the US Constitution but you don't understand the difference between a majority and a plurality.
