I was against those jobs going overseas too. They were high paying union jobs. The jobs that come back won't be. And many of those jobs will be robots now. So this is a good thing for American Corporations and some of that will trickle down on us. But it won't be the 10 million high paying manufacturing jobs that we lost.

And another part of me liked having stuff made in Mexico, China, India. Let them use up their natural resources. Let them pollute their air and water.

Those jobs going overseas is one of the 4 or 5 ways the gap between the rich and rest of us got wider. The companies that shipped the most jobs overseas did the best so their ceo's made the most and the investors made a lot too. So I didn't want them to go overseas back then either. Back when those jobs paid well.

Now bringing those jobs back benefits the Corporations not labor so much. So this isn't really a plan to MAGA as far as blue collar workers. Don't kid yourself. Labor wages in China and Mexico are going up. It's not so cheap to make it there anymore. Plus shipping costs. It's cheaper if you can make in America. ESPECIALLY now that those jobs won't be high paying union jobs. Or AI/Automation.

Are you against jobs going automated or being replaced by AI? I'm not. Many labor groups want to fight it but there is no fighting it. The American people will just have to figure out how our economy will run when most jobs in the future can be automated. If robots can do it for $10,000 a year, why make a company pay you $30,000? Right?

What's the solution? Have fewer kids? Re design how humans work? Maybe humans only have to work 20 or 30 years then they get to retire. Maybe if you are poor after 30 years you get a basic universal salary like social security. What will we do if work becomes obsolete? We already see young people who want to get rich do it on social media. So maybe there will be some new industry we haven't even thought of yet where they work remotely/online. It's not work like you and I think of work. No manual labor anymore. But then what will become of Trump's base?

So do we continue to do back breaking work even though we can have robots doing that work?
