Nixon is the one who enacted wage and price controls, not Ford./---/You're too young to remember Gerald Ford's WIN (Whip Inflation Now) that regulated prices and wages. And didn't FDR put price controls on goods and services?
Already answered. I’m not responsible for your inability to comprehend.LOL - why are you afraid to say? You think you'll be banished from MAGA?
"Insanity: Doing the same thing over and over, expecting a different result.".
So?
.
/——/ No, I was in sales at the time and our manager gleefully froze our salaries. His title changed to allow him his raise. He literally laughed in our faces telling us to complain to President Ford.Nixon is the one who enacted wage and price controls, not Ford.
When Nixon announced his wage and price controls, the stock market rallied and something like 75 percent of the population supported him.
But like I said earlier, price control always result in scarcity. Ranchers killed their cows, farmers killed their chickens, and it wasn't long before supermarket shelves were empty.
Even worse, inflation jumped to the moon, and our economy suffered "stagflation" for over a decade.
as far as i am concerned they should be banned from tv at least...the wegovy commercial is pretty bad.../----/ Good questions. When I was a rep, we could see and talk to a doctor for about 5 minutes. If you ever read the package insert material in a prescription, you'd understand the extensive information on each drug. I only had three Rxs so it was a challenge to cover each effectively.
The next option is magazine advertising, but even then there was no guarantee the doctor would read it.
The pharma companies started using TV ads because it reached the patients who would then "ask the doctor if Malomars are right for me." This pushes the doc to actually read the material.
As far as the dumb ads, I agree, but each industry has its own style of advertising. I spent a decade as a copywriter and designer in NY ad agencies.
Doctors are peculiar individuals, and you have to cater to their tastes.
Banks have their own style of ads, which are dull and conservative.
Car ads are another one. Caddy Lincoln Mercedes ads are starkly different from Kia and Toyota.
Hope that ansers your question.
Keep guessing.I’m guessing the same people fell for this shit when Trump announced the exact same thing in his first term.
/-----/ Then how the hell do the pharma companies reach their only customers, the prescribing doctors? How do the doctors learn about new drugs and new uses for the existing drugs? Smoke signals? Carrier Pigeons?as far as i am concerned they should be banned from tv at least...the wegovy commercial is pretty bad...
so your saying they only learn about them from ******* tv commercials?...come on cellblock..../-----/ Then how the hell do the pharma companies reach their only customers, the prescribing doctors? Democrats could CARE LESS about drugs and Americans overdosing too....I wonder how our resident scum, of the dimocrap variety, are going to spin this. We know they don't care about America or Americans, at best. But they can't stand the fact that OMB is earning Brownie Points for doing a good job and addressing things with action instead of words alone.
Any guesses? If dimocrap scum can't spin it, they'll ignore it. Always.
/—-/ The doctors stopped seeing us “detail people” They saw us as an intrusion on patient time where they made money. Congress banned the promotional items. The TV commercials were for the patients not the doctors..
We used to call them "detail people", the sales people from the pHARMa companies who used to drop in and wait for an appointment to see the doctor. They always left samples and advertising swag.
Also, doctors used to be required to attend continuing education every year. Don't they still do this?
If doctors need to watch TV to learn about drugs, we're in trouble.
But then, most doctors these days just type some symptoms into a computer and the computer tells them what to prescribe.
I saw this all coming and quit pre-med, knowing I would never be allowed to practice real medicine.

Geeeze. Those commercials you hate aren’t targeted towards you. Just flip the damn channel.
What is your experience in pharmaceuticals?
/——/ So I’ve been debating a guy who is completely out of touch with doctors and pharmaceutical industry..
Bummer! I never had to buy note pads or drink tumblers or coffee mugs! I loved the detail people.
I don't watch TV for anything but white noise, to cover up my tinnitus. My experience in pHARMaceuticals ceased back when pharmacists still compounded drugs.

GEEEZE
/—-/ My first clue was you using detail people. We stopped using that term in 1980..
Key word here is "industry".
Medicine used to be an art.
.
Trump is doing a fantastic job for Americans.
/----/ "EDUCATION TIME, then decide your position in this matter-----------> a drug company spends BILLIONS to bring a drug to market, ...."
Education time? I've posted many times I was a pharmaceutical rep for a major drug company for 8 years.
Science Is for SuckersOpening the market to other countries would be the best option. The fed gov has us cut off from most imports.
That would give big pharma a reality check.
