Allow me to sum up what leftwing economic goals are

1) Policy to work towards anyone working 40 hours a week is not living in poverty.

2) Unions to ensure good compensation and benefits.

3) Ending the ridiculous loopholes that allows the wealthy and corporations to not pay taxes. See, the OFFICIAL tax rate that corporations are supposed to pay is not the EFFECTIVE tax rate they actually pay.

4) Improving US infrastructure. It’s something that republicans agree with yet they won’t give democrats credit for it even though Biden passed signature legislation for it.

Now I’m not suggesting that democrats in office are doing enough for the above, but they are still goals progressive voters want.

Notice how none of the above has anything to do with ending capitalism or able bodied adults just mooching off the government full time.

If I was talking by Prog standards to Repubs all the highways and bridges should have been rebuilt or renovated by now. Progs are still plying interference for the work to be started in many places.

Aside from the homeless and mentally ill out on the streets, nobody in the United States lives in poverty.

2) Unions to ensure good compensation and benefits.
If Americans wanted unions to represent them we'd have more than 10% of the workplace unionized.

3) Ending the ridiculous loopholes that allows the wealthy and corporations to not pay taxes. See, the OFFICIAL tax rate that corporations are supposed to pay is not the EFFECTIVE tax rate they actually pay.
The Democratic Party has no interest in ever doing this. It's a talking point they use when electioneering. If they were serious about it they've had multiple opportunities do it. Their corporate cash cows are the same as the GOP's/

4) Improving US infrastructure. It’s something that republicans agree with yet they won’t give democrats credit for it even though Biden passed signature legislation for it.
If they were serious about that they'd introduce a clean bill for infrastructure which would have gotten wide bipartisan, if not unanimous, support, but they didn't. They stuffed it with bullshit that essentially ends up making it a poison pill.

So, Venezuela then. This must be your first rodeo.

North Korea is already doing everything that you want
Well, except for the fact that they live in an authoritarian dictatorship and no one REALLY knows what the economic living conditions are in the country...oh hey, let's just call your post bullshit. LOL. :auiqs.jpg:
A simple Google search..I mean really Joe, you can do it.

EDIT - I apologize. Wrong link

Ending the ridiculous loopholes that allows the wealthy and corporations to not pay taxes.

Great idea. List some specific "ridiculous loopholes".

See, the OFFICIAL tax rate that corporations are supposed to pay is not the EFFECTIVE tax rate they actually pay.

Why do you feel the OFFICIAL rate and the EFFECTIVE rate should be identical?

Improving US infrastructure. It’s something that republicans agree with yet they won’t give democrats credit for it even though Biden passed signature legislation for it.

Great idea. What wasteful government spending should we cut to pay for it?

Where in the pipeline has the infrastructure money been bottle necked? Looks like so far it's not going to
actual infrastructure, but more like administration costs.
The democrats aren't going to shoot themselves in the foot and not open up loopholes for the wealthy and corporations.
Sure, some will be closed and the msm will run with that while silent on the new loopholes.
Unions hay day has come and in decline, nothing is going to change that.
Policy to work towards 40 hours and not living in poverty? Pie in the sky, small businesses are closing doors.

Where are you getting the ridiculous idea that only homeless people are poor? Just because being homeless is better than being poor with a home does not somehow mean it is the only measure of poverty.

Obozo in his first year in office talked about shovel ready infrastructure jobs being a top priority of his agenda. Two terms in office and he did nothing.
A dozen years later and the Democrats are back in office with Biden and they're still talking about addressing the country's infrastructure problems. ... :cuckoo:

I already gave you the source about what corporations effectively pay. You’re not getting anything else because 1) it doesn’t matter for me to name these loopholes and deductions if they clearly exist either way and 2) Your dumbass demands sources but never provides your own. It is childish, stupid, and you should feel embarrassed.

Never said anything about them being identical. Youre just making shit up.

We could easily cut defense spending.

Item #1. Not every 40 hour a week job deserves a living wage. Fewer deserve that pay and benefits. These are intended to be entry level jobs, not something you raise a family on.

Item #2. Unions are only useful if they are willing to work WITH the Company, not against it. I have the benefit of a situation where there is a 50+ year Union/Company relationship. We don’t always agree but we work together for everyone’s benefit.
Item #3. That’s fine as long as the loopholes are closed for EVERYONE, and EVERYONE is required to pay something… even the POOR.

Item #4. So long as the infrastructure is paid for at the proper level. The Constitution only allows the Federal Goverment to pay for a limited amount/type of infrastructure. The rest should be paid for at the state or local level.

People speak to corporate taxes with such ignorance.

That article posted by OP is full of lies.

They claim Nike paid $0 in taxes in 2020?

LIE.

READ THE NIKE SEC FILING.

Its so easy to dispell cult lies.

Tax "loopholes" are the reward for investing in long term growth. This benefits everyone. High corporate taxes have forced many companies to expand even when they would have preferred to pay a reasonable tax instead on annual profits and let it go at that.

Whatever bullshit claims you or anyone else might make about what “leftwing economic goals” might be, we are now seeing the reality of what leftwing policies create.

Neither of these comments make any sense whatsoever. I swear you people have a See 'N Say where you pull the cord and regurgitate one out of a set of the same responses.
OK, NK, USSR, Cambodia, Cuba, Zimbabwe, Communist China, Argentina of yore. You want more?

FFS, they were all premised on the OP's wishes.

It is not our first rodeo.
