A myth is born. Plyler v. Doe ruled citizenship for offspring of illegal aliens

Yes. There is.

Sadly, it is a muddled term. But in fact there is such a thing.

No "anchoring" takes place. Having a US citizen child does NOT alter a parent's immigration status or prevent one or both from being deported. An anchor that lets the Good Ship Mommypop float on back home is no anchor.

We’ve been through this, unky.

You pointed out that an anchor child can’t sponsor other family members until the kid turns 21. You were right about that.

But the kid can certainly still anchor other family members coming in.

And then so on and so on and so on.

Please don’t imagine that you’re an expert on the intricacies of the INA.

I'm not sure why you posted all that but . . . Bourfa v. Mayorkas leaves no wiggle room for aliens who violate our immigration laws

From the opinion Bourfa v. Mayorkas:

In §1155, Congress granted the Secretary broad authority to revoke an approved visa petition “at any time, forwhat he deems to be good and sufficient cause.” Such a revocation is thus “in the discretion of” the agency.§1252(a)(2)(B)(ii). Where §1252(a)(2)(B)(ii) applies, then, it bars judicial review of the Secretary’s revocation under§1155. Therefore, we affirm the judgment of the Court of Appeals.
It is so ordered.

Deportations begin in 41 days.
