A Mere $25 Million

Actually, there are several places where the government has not only created jobs, but they've created useful products that they developed and later licensed to civilians so they could make them and sell them to the public.

One such invention? Radar. Originally developed for the military, later turned over to civilians to use, and now, they are on lots of cars.

Another one? GPS. Originally developed for the military, was later released to the public domain after much discussion. Now? Almost everyone has GPS on their phones, cars, Fit Bits, etc.

Both were created and developed by the government, and later gave rise to large product and business development.
Most are not arguing with military spending.

Ray said that the government never creates anything useful nor do they create jobs.

Lots of products currently being produced for the civilian sector have their origins in something developed for the military or by NASA.

I doubt if Ray is opposed to military spending. I don't think food stamps created anything except very fat poor people. That is probably more in line with his thinking.

Of course you are and I'm LMAO because stupid, careless and incompetent isn't in the WH.

I'll be having the last laugh on your sorry ass when Trump turns things around.

Carry on clueless.

Trump turns things around???????

What a maroon. Of course anyone who trusts in FDR just proves what a clueless moron they are.

I saw him put the nation back to work after the Hoover fiasco. All the Republicans do is cut taxes for the rich and wreck the economy.

Everything FDR did extended the GD.

WWII was what got us out of the GD not FDR.

My family was on relief. Roosevelt put my dad to work on the civilian conservation corps. He bought a two year old Ford Sedan in 1940......first car he ever owned.

You goddamned Republicans watch Fox News and spew bullshit 24/7.

Sure and he was paid with tax dollars. FDR was charging some companies 90% or better in taxes. No wonder they couldn't hire. They couldn't afford to. All their money was going toward taxes.

Speaking of spewing bullshit. Research the great FDR. I did. Like you I thought he was a great POTUS until I researched him and found out that every damned thing he did extended the GD.

Perhaps, but they were only sellable products when they went to the private market which is the point I was making.

Our economy is a system of producing and purchasing. When you produce, you make income that you can use to by products or services somebody else is making. It's just a giant cycle of interchanging money for products. If I use my money to buy products from the company you work for, that gives you work and an income. The same when you buy a product or service from the company I work for. Both of our employers use the profit to expand, reinvest, or purchase more equipment to grow larger if they can.

When company profits are invested, it creates even more jobs.

It's hilarious to see the Trumptards try to put a brave face on this.
all you needed was one person who achieved success from the seminars at Trump U and it would have been pretty difficult for anyone to win the lawsuit.

I bet you are one of those folks that blame the university when you do poorly because YOU did not pay attention in class. And I bet you are one of those people that blame the University because you interview poorly and cant get a job.

Trump settled because he has bigger fish to fry than a bunch of losers who don't know why they cant implement a real estate investment plan that others are able to do who took the same courses.

See? These Trumptards will defend ANYTHING Trump does.

Trump used common sense something you appear to lack.

No surprise there since you backed stupid, careless and incompetent.

Anybody with common sense would have gone bankrupt three times running casinos. How the hell does anybody go bankrupt running a casino...especially in Atlantic City?

Barry Hussein sent a freaking Billion dollars of our money (or more) in cash to a country that supports terrorism and never gave a logical reason for it. Which transaction makes more sense?

George W. Bush sent six trillion dollars to the rich people in the form of tax cuts and borrowed it from foreign banks. Put that in your pipe and stoke it!

The federal government can't create jobs… Dip shit

So Trump's trillion dollar federal government infrastructure program won't create any jobs?

So Trump's federal tariffs on imports won't create any jobs?

So Trump's planned federal spending on the military won't create any jobs?

Interesting.
Any federal job has to be paid for by the private sector, so was necessary as they may be they are not a real job if they're paid for by the private sector.

I worked 41 years for a prime contractor of the DOE. Every cent they paid me was funded by the government.

Most are not arguing with military spending.

That's partly because defense spending, BY THE FEDERAL GOVERNMENT, is very good at creating jobs.

Government has a role, but it is notoriously inefficient. Most tax payers prefer using their taxes for generating jobs and wealth rather than giving out free stuff if given the choice. This is what Trump's supporters will judge him by.

That goddamned rich assed Trump puts out $25 million to the folks he phucked at TrumpU

If he were not the president elect of the U S you can bet your ass it would be a cold day in hell before he would do this.

Trump tweeted that he settled for a "fraction" of the original amount requested in damages from the plaintiffs, which was $40,000,000. Shows he can't even do simple math. 61% is not a fraction, it's a majority.

Good Lord....

Government has a role, but it is notoriously inefficient. Most tax payers prefer using their taxes for generating jobs and wealth rather than giving out free stuff if given the choice. This is what Trump's supporters will judge him by.

Taxpayers in large numbers tend to fall for the Republican myth that everything will get better if they just keep cutting taxes.

You hire a guy to roof your house. You create a job, you paid for it. You pay your taxes to have your roads plowed by the county in winter. You create a job, you paid for it.

No difference.

The difference is that the public sector doesn't produce a sellable product or service, the private sector does.

You make widgets. You sell your widgets to the public. They pay you money, you pay some of that money to your employees, some of that money to keep the company producing widgets, and of course taxes.

When people use up their widgets, they come back for more, and the process repeats itself.

When the government paves a road, they didn't produce a sellable product or service. They paved the road, and we all use that road, but once it's paved, the job is done.

If the government charges money for using the road, then they produced a sellable product. They use the profit from their sales, and pave more roads. The more money they can get for their roads, the more people they can hire, the more supplies they can purchase, and the more roads they can pave.

The normal process of jobs and government is that people go to work to produce a product or service, and pay some of what they earned to the government. In other words, the private sector supports the public sector. One of the reasons DumBama is such an utter failure is because he tried doing the exact opposite. He thought that the pubic sector could support the private sector. It simply doesn't work that way.

You ever hear of the Manhattan project? That was the creation of the first atomic bomb. We dropped a couple of them on Hiroshima and Nagasaki to end the second world war. Our government more than likely saved more than 100,000 young American lives when they signed the peace treaty with Japan in 1945.

Truer words have never been spoken. I was a Republican for the first thirty years I voted. The party used to support the common man. Now.....I wouldn't piss on their ass if their guts were on fire.

Sort of shows how little you know about business.

The way you see it....if a man sells widgets as a broker.....in other words, he buys widgets from a manufacturer and sells them to widget distributers....then THAT man, the broker, is the job creator because it is HIS sales that gave reason for widget manufacturers to hire people.

That is not creating jobs. The widget manufacturer is the one who created the jobs. The broker simply capitalized on the supply of widgets.
