Or like James Earle Ray, Jack Ruby, and Oswald. be given a company lawyer that pleads guilty for you or you are tried posthumously. If he confesses and/or "commits suicide", we may not know.

In other 2A threads I spoke of my trips to the range and my successes and failures at distance with rifles I have or have access to and will retrace plowed ground.
My vision isn’t terrific, I require glasses, and normally limit myself to the hundred yard range at our local facility. The rifles I shoot most often are chambered in .308 and 7.62 x 39. I do well enough that I am not going to win any matches, but I hit what I point at.
Anyway, for grins, I tried the longer ranges, on different days. Metal plates that I judge to be about 18” square, every hundred yards out to 500.
With the PSAK and a mid range scope, using Wolf steel case rounds, 200 was no misses, 300, about 75%, 400 about half, and they needed to mow, 500 were hidden behind Johnson grass.
All this to say that I do not find the assassin’s shot all that remarkable.
The autopsy and medical examiner's report could shed some light on this, and the physical evidence of any clothing that would show the bullet strike if it did hit some armor. Witness statements, there must have been a hundred videos, etc. There is no obligation of the state to show any of this except to the defense and court, and I don't think he has had council appointed yet. If his parents received the reward this would be a good place to drop it off, but I think the judge found him indigent. The latest number is <150 yards...A relatively easy shot for anyone who has experience plinking with a .22.
Now the latest is that Charlie's neck absorbed the kinetic energy of that .30 cal round, and the bullet was stopped inside him, without blowing half of it away.

Never fired an SVT-40. You could probably increase the accuracy and prolong the life of the rifle by loading the ammo down by a couple hundred fps, as long as it has enough pressure to cycle the bolt. The hardest part would be coming up with brass that isn't Berdan primed like most Easter Bloc ammo. I looked, reloadable 7.62x54R brass runs between .50 cents to $1 a piece on gunbroker.
Unacceptable.Maybe some Deep State cells in charge of recruiting and developing kooks into assassins are better at doing their jobs than others.
If I had a choice I would like an StG 58 over an SVT 40 , but I have heard that SVT 40 are fragile and parts are scarce . I’m in a kinda transition in my Gun Building / Collecting , I’ve gone from 2-4 builds a month now to 1-2 , and I’m diggin the 9mm AR realm . I have spares & Parts to dive directly back into the Traditional / Retro AR15 / M16 arena but I’ve beat that horse to death with like 35-40 builds . I have a spare complete ArmaLite AR10 A2 20” Upper from the early 2000s to go with my Complete ArmaLite 20” AR10A2 from around 1997 timeframe . But in California I can’t just get an easy to obtain ArmaLite AR10 B lower receiver as they are banned by name ( but I can get an a B pattern ArmaLite SPR Mod 2 lower but they are uber Rare . I constantly have build ideas and past projects underway . I am open to new ideas on builds
Please shoot his 9mm AR if he has one ( especially if it’s carbine configured or SBR ) they are a hootWow!
You do stay busy
I, too would prefer an StG 58 over the SVT-40 but it was in good shape and cost only $350- years ago.
I don't shoot or reload nearly as much as I used to but am taking an M1A, AK-47, AR etc and some handguns for a few days of target shooting at my brother's.
He's much more involved with AR building, collecting and Class 3 toys at the moment than I am so, I might manage to have fun somehow.
Enjoy,
You should consider that it was a ricocheted round and not a direct hit.The latest number is <150 yards...A relatively easy shot for anyone who has experience plinking with a .22.

Because it seemed you were being appropriately sarcastic?
I see how you could think that.Because it seemed you were being appropriately sarcastic?
In fact, on closer exam, I believe the bullet struck the heavy (likely stainless) rope type chain (or near where it was attached) that was holding his chest plate protection. You should consider that it was a ricocheted round and not a direct hit.
It glanced off his vest and or it was a piece of the vest itself that struck him in the neck.
If there were higher powers pulling the strings of both assassins, Robinson still seems to have been quite a bit more competent than Thomas Crooks. If they both indeed had handlers behind the scenes, one needs to still recognize the painstaking and laborious work it has to take such people to find a candidate or patsy and work on them until they are "ready", and there may be no perfect person for the job. If they want it done they have to work with what is available, and of course with assassinations timing is an extremely critical element. That also may not be perfect in some cases, but if they want the job down it will have to do.I see how you could think that.
But the truth is we knew more about Kirk's murder in the first few hours after the shooting than we know of Trumps shooting that took place nearly a year and a half ago.
I don't buy into the conspiracy that either one was groomed or had handlers. If there were higher powers pulling the strings of both assassins, Robinson still seems to have been quite a bit more competent than Thomas Crooks. So of course this all affects the aftermath as well, and whatever evidence remains and the ability for the authorities to uncover evidence. There is so much that is circumstantial to each assassination or assassination attempt.
And again, if both these assassins had secret handlers, in both cases those handlers have protected their identities and not been discovered. So it really may not matter that much that more was learned about Crooks than Robinson in the first few hours. Remember, Crooks was not successful and was killed on the spot. That helped, and may have been just circumstantial luck.
The whole idea of having a patsy is having someone who will do something and get in trouble, likely because they made mistakes. It's a gamble you take that the person will complete his mission, and you have to take that risk unless you want to do the job yourself and then take a much bigger risk.I don't buy into the conspiracy that either one was groomed or had handlers.
Too many mistakes and sloppiness for that. For me.
I understand the concept. I just don't see any evidence of it.The whole idea of having a patsy is having someone who will do something and get in trouble, likely because they made mistakes. Well don't know much about Crooks and his online activities... but we know Robinson was very active online and very much into gaming. When and where was the time (or evidence) of anything outside of that?If it was any Deep State faction, or Mossad, you almost certainly wouldn't. They would have resources as good or better than most law enforcement agencies to help cover their tracks. Might be awhile before anyone saw any evidence of it if ever.
Many times I have looked up specs on various firearms online because I just like firearms. And several times after thinking I found a relevant article or post, after a few paragraphs I realized something was wrong. And what was wrong is that what I was reading was not real at all but a post on a gaming social media hub, referring to "virtual" firearms where the games actually include a lot of detail about weapons and and their specs I had to read through several paragraphs before I realized that someone was talking about a video game. Of course on those platforms people also talk about things that happen in video games like casualties and wounds and missions, etc.Well don't know much about Crooks and his online activities... but we know Robinson was very active online and very much into gaming. Replying to my own self again here. But I am still trying to figure all this out before we get the actual autopsy (to see if that info lines up with what I see) and I notice something I missed before. If you go through the video frame by fame. At the 0:03 time, I see what appears to be a portion of either the vest or (shocking) the top of a large Cross pendant, pushed up above Charlie's collar and (when the collar settles) his neck wound. In fact, on closer exam, I believe the bullet struck the heavy (likely stainless) rope type chain (or near where it was attached) that was holding his chest plate protection.
And that is what caused the violent tugging of his shirt, when impacted.
