A discussion about rifles and capabilities

Then google that , and get back to us too
Mr. Kirk, whose appearances on college campuses drew ardent support and fierce condemnation, had received numerous death threats over the past year and had been traveling with a security team for months. Over dinner, Ms. Kirk implored her husband to start wearing a bulletproof vest. When he demurred, the friend suggested that Mr. Kirk speak behind bulletproof glass.

“Not yet,” Mr. Kirk replied.

Google if Kirk wore vests in last 5 years at his events , Trump wears vests all the time .

I looked around for information about Kirk wearing body armor and while a few individuals claim that he was, the overwhelming number of sources state that he was not:

"Erika Kirk Claims Charlie Kirk Was Not Wearing a Bulletproof Vest, but the Internet Disagrees"

"Was Charlie Kirk wearing a bulletproof vest?"

EXCERPT "According to The New York Times, Erika revealed that Charlie wasn't wearing a bulletproof vest when he was attacked at the campus of Utah Valley University. The widow disclosed the information during an interview after Charlie's memorial service." CONTINUED

Do you still believe that he was wearing body armor?

I cannot believe that a .30-06 round only lodged in Kirk's neck without being significantly obstructed before by something else.

I've also read conflicting reports about an autopsy done or not done on Kirk.

I don't look to complicate this tragic incident but cannot believe that there was no exit wound if Kirk had really been killed with a single .30-06 round that remained in his neck.

Thanks,

I've been digging more and more into this, mainly because I have a problem with the known physics of a 30-06 (velocity, trajectory, energy etc) and the reported distances, elevations, etc.

Knowing that the tent is in the lowest part of the outdoor Ampitheater, O counted the steps (Code is around 6.5 inches per step) Charlie was about 15' below the nearest ground level. Robinson's spot on the roof (seen with crime scene markers) was at least two stories above that. I estimate the total elevation difference to be between 45 and 50 feet.

I used AI to confirm the math at 200 yards and the angle of the shot, (17-20 degrees) because I really was starting to think Charlies was sitting too far back in the tent, for Robinson to see him from that far up, even at 300+ yards.

Then I found this image and it does seem plausible again. U still think there is a chance that the round skipped off of something else, maybe even before hitting Charlie in the neck/ necklace.

Thoughts?
*I (not *U) still think it may have skipped or ricocheted.

******* typos. :bang3:
