Truckers used to have something called Per diem that was tax-deductible.
That was the money that they spent on food and daily expenses while they were driving.
Gone.
So the owners of the truck company got huge tax breaks, but the average trucker salary went up $8000 or more.
And they got rid of some of those onerous regulations that protect drivers from fatigue and over long of hours.
So now drivers can work longer and harder for less. And you have to thank Donald Trump and the GOP for that. That’s 7 million workers in a nearly billion dollar industry.

Obviously truckers are not the only blue-collar workers that Trump and the GOP have super screwed over. But this thread is just about
how they’re screwing over truckers.
Do you think those truckers are still going to vote GOP? Would you? And if you would, why?
I think Donald Trump and the Republicans are really motivating these truck drivers to vote.
