63 Million

Hiring technicians to kill the unborn children they think they might not be able to afford to raise in the greatest Nation in the world? Is that the concept the abortionist fans want to rely on?

So do you advocate for people using contraception to avoid kids they cannot afford? Im no fan of abortion. But i do promote waiting until a couple can afford kids.

Duh. That’s not what I said. I said both spouses should work, pre-baby, but forget about a house for now. Go with a less expensive option, and then put away the DIFFERENCE for a year or two. Then, when you’ve put away at least six months, THEN have the baby and let Mom quit her job THEN and stay home for a while.

Birth control is a thing.

Obviously after 6 months the kid is all grown.

And if there is no cheaper alternative? Its ok to say dont have kids. Thats already happening. Its going to continue. Theres nothing negative about it.
There’s always a cheaper alternative. Didn’t they have to put down a deposit to buy their house? They could have put that aside, stayed in a rental, and then use what would have been the deposit money to let the mother stay at home for a while.

I know you’re a leftist and thus don’t like to hold people responsible for their own decisions, but they had a choice.

Years ago it was the population boom that was the threat to humanity. Now it looks to be tapering off.
A threat to humanity now not a threat.

With AI about to replace many humans in the workplace, do we really need to replace everyone? Probably not.

With robots also being developed, and self-driving vehicles, how much of the populace really needs to be replaced?

College grads are having a hard time landing jobs. What will society look like in 10-years? Guaranteed income without work?
Beautiful parks.

Birth rates are dropping all around the world.

To sustain a stable population, the birth rate needs to be 2.1 children per female. If the replacement rate drops below 2.1, serious economic problems begin to occur. For example, the ratio of active workers to retirees shrinks, resulting in a greater tax burden on workers to support the elderly. We are down to 2.7 workers per Social Security recipient and are facing bankrupty of the Social Security system in a few short years.

The United States birth rate was 3.65 in 1960. It has declined steadily to the present rate of 1.62. There is no evidence this trend will change.

Since Roe v. Wade, America has killed 63 million fetuses in the womb. This would have reversed the declining birth rate necessary to sustain our population.

I was watching a video about declining birth rates last night, when my wife said, "We should outlaw abortion."

One of many reasons I married her.

The country with the lowest birth rate is South Korea. They stand at a shocking 0.73.

They are followed by Hong Kong at 0.78, Singapore, Taiwan, and Macau at 1.2.

China really shot themselve in the face with their One Child Policy and stand at 1.0. They have repealed the One Child Policy for that reason.

Abortion is legal in all these countries, although in South Korea it has only been legal since 2019.

Fox News viewers will be pleased to hear the countries with the highest birth rates are Chad at 9.4, Somalia at 9.1, Congo at 5.9, the Central African Republic at 5.81, and Niger at 5.79.

Fox News viewers will also be pleased to hear those countries do not top the list of countries with the highest death rates. Not even close.

The United States is only just now pondering what to do about our low birth rate. Tucker Carlson believes shining red light on your balls will solve the problem. I kid you not.

Other countries, especially in Asia, have been working on this problem for a long time. Cash incentives and so forth. All attempts have failed.

There is one other solution aside from banning abortion which is guaranteed to be successful.

Immigration. Lots of immigration.

We have 63 million unborn to replace.

I think the birth control pill made legal for married in 1965, for singles in 1972 also contributed, along with women having to work, along with the husband, in order to live a middle class life.

Our solution now, because we are past the 11th hour, is legal immigration....imo.

It really only takes a few to justify it. By and large, immigrants are highly productive members of society. Tons of major companies are founded by and run by immigrants.

Why wouldn’t we want to attract the best and the brightest from around the world?

The thread's topic concerns abortion, the birth rate, immigration, and the need to replace the 63 million unborn.

My contention, plain and simple, is that the idea that our population is 63 million is short of ideal isn't based on the reality of the situation. The need for human labor in both agriculture and industry indicates to me that comparing the birthrates of 1960 and today is kind of stupid.

Here's the thing anti-immigrant bigots don't get.

First, they believe the Democrats plan to register them all as Democrats.

The thing about immigrants is they are hard workers, very family-oriented, and deeply religious. The immigrants from south of our border are devout Christians.

In other words, they possess all the qualities the Republican pay lip service to.

However, the message they get from Republicans is they bring crime, they are rapists, and they are all drug runners, and only "some" are good people.

For the same reason blacks registger as Democrats, you cannot expect people to register with a party which so clearly, brazenly, and unequivocally HATES them.

In other words, Republicans are lying about what they believe in. They believe in a president who is an adulterer, a thief, a rapist, and who is antithetical to every religious principle.

Do you honestly believe God is going to bless a nation with a beast at its head?

We need immigrants as much as they need us. They are industrious and believe in our founding principles more that we do.
Listen to yourself for a minute…you’re trying real hard to convince people that civilized, wealthy, advanced, powerful first world nations are made better by uncivilized, poor, illiterate, desperate third worlders that don’t even speak the language….Do you realize what that sounds like to a sane mind?
We hear “African slaves made America great!”

I do believe in responsibility. When i describe a plan of saving a big nest egg before having kids theres alot of push back. They propose havi g kids first, while very young, regardless of economic condition. I say 30 is a good time to start considering a child if thats what they want. The reply is oh no thats too late. I believe getting further educated before marriage is a good plan. Oh no. Get married and have kids first. So what is your reply to them?

Apparently it does math out because we are the strongest and most vibrant economy in the world.

And if every poor immigrant in the world walked across our border to take a piece of that American pie including free healthcare, housing, education, etc. I am sure we will remain that way, right? It isn’t as if the majority of these are highly educated or as intelligent and ambitious as Elon Musk.

I am all for legal immigration, but immigrants have to be vetted not only for safety, but also to determine if their skillset is useful in the US. If they are a brick layer and we need brick layers, then great, come on in. If they have no skills and are going to be on social services, why would we let them in? Many other countries have strict immigration laws that follow this pattern because supporting the world’s poor is not feasible.

You aborted the future of America.

No i dont. I am an advocate for higher wages for american workers to be able to afford a family. Imagine bringing a nine day old baby to daycare for over 40 hours per week so you can just barely squeak by. Hard to fathom but reality for millions.

No, I'm pretty sure that everytime we have discussed policies about raising wages for working Americans, you have been at best a naysayer and at worst an attacking jerk.

What? Why would we need to "replace" unwanted zygotes from 50 years ago? The planet is stressed enough as it is.

I agree with all that.

And the WORST that people do is have kids before they’re even married, and have no way to support them at all. That’s the biggest cause of problems in the black community, given its 72% OOW rate.

Yes, this is a switch for InItForMe. His answer to people being unable to afford what they want - be it a house, or a stay-at-home mom - is for employers to just pay more. Often he’s come up with ridiculous amounts for unskilled jobs that a teen could do.

This is the first time I’ve heard him acknowledge that people are responsible for their own situations.

I also agree with him that 30, or late 20s, should be the time to start a family. By then, you’ve been working for 8 - 10 years, have moved beyond entry-level pay, and could have saved a decent amount.
