2016: The Year Americans Found Out Their Elections Are Rigged

The two establishment parties have gone above and beyond to corrupt the election process so they can do whatever the hell they want without fear of being booted out of office. This is how these corrupt bastards hold onto their seat for 30-40 years. The result...pick an area of corruption and you will find politicians at the root of the corruption.

By their very nature, a political party is acting in their own interests and attempting to remain in power. Is this surprising to you?
Why would it be different?

not the point, the point is that the American voters are finally waking up to the corruption in both parties-------------------that's why Trump and Sanders are getting so many votes-----------the people are fed up.

One thing's for sure, half the country is going to go apeshit insane come November.

What corruption?

making the voters think they are involved in the nomination process.

Who ever said you were? Your education is your own responsibility.

Until this year, most americans believed that their votes in the primaries had some influence in who got the nomination. Some of us understand that that was never the case, but the majority believed that it was.

Now, because of Trump and Sanders, the truth is coming out and lots of people are very pissed at both parties-------------and that's a good thing for the country.
hello? is anybody home?

Bernie Sanders has 2,500,000 LESS VOTES of the people than Hillary....

Trump is winning the votes of the people in the RNC primaries.

Trying to bring the Democrats in to this Trump/ RNC fiasco that the Republican Party is doing, FAILS imo.

I agree to a degree....

First let me say, ''the establishment'' is just a softer synonym for ''the PARTY''...... it's 'THE PARTY, the Republican Party, that is doing this to Trump....and as long as you all hang on to this regurgitation of calling it 'the establishment' you are HIDING who is truly doing this....it is the Republican Party, the RNC/the GOP that is doing this to Mr. Trump....

It is NOT THE SAME with the DNC and Bernie....

no one in the Democratic party is trying to STOP sanders, there is no #NeverSanders movement as there is a #NeverTrump....

NO ONE in the Democratic Party is out there trying to belittle Bernie, as the Republican Party has put out there to belittle Trump....

Trump is winning in the votes of the people AHEAD of all other Republican candidates

Sanders is losing by 2MILLION votes of the people, against Hillary....

Trying to bring the Democratic Party in to this by the author, is just diminishing what the Republican Party HAS CHOSEN TO DO against Mr. Trump.

You make some great points here, but I dont think it is 100% accurate to say that Sanders is getting no suppression whatsoever.

When a candidate wins 7 of 8 contests and LOSES ground in the delegate count, or wins a state with 70% of the vote and still comes out with the minority of the delegates, it isnt exactly 'one man, one vote'.

The Democratic Party essentially practices Apartheid with socialists in their own party so the elite DC politicians can continue to sell their votes to corporate lobbyists with little blow back from voters.

IT is pretty much the same kind of thing with different methods in the GOP trying to derail Trump.
The thing is, those super delegates that some people are counting as delegates for Hillary, ARE NOT SECURED/PLEDGED votes and they can change all the way up to the convention....super delegates are UNPLEDGED delegates.

In 2008, Hillary had a lot of those super delegates almost right up until the convention and with Obama getting slightly more votes from the caucuses/primaries they changed their support for Hillary and gave their pledged vote, to Obama....

So, I don't think we can count on those Super delegate support, until they actually cast their votes....none of them have cast a vote yet, they have only shown support or their leanings of who they might actually vote for....

Democratic unpledged delegates have always ended up voting in majority for the candidate that has won the majority of the votes, when the primary contest is over....

True, they do have the opportunity to not do that....to vote for a candidate that did not have the most votes of the people, but so far, since the inception of these super delegates, they have never done this...

Bernie has 2,500,000 less votes of the people than Hillary....there are some really big states coming up so this can still change a great deal before the process is finalized.

bernie recently won 7 little, proportional, mostly caucus, states in a row...

so the hillary haters would like to believe he's actually winning.

meanwhile hillary swept up a ton of support on two huge super tuesdays, and then some...

delusion bernie fans, plus hillary haters who would vote for neither in the primary, wish to forget that.

because 7 out of the last 8. derrp

We got a perfect example of how the voters don't decide elections in 2000,

via the electoral college system that by far a consensus of conservatives LOVE.

still crying that Bush beat your clowns twice------------tough shit.

He won via a system that you people are now crying about, the system where who gets the most votes may still lose.

we are discussing primaries, not the electoral college. But since you brought it up, Clinton got 41% his first time.

That's a hilarious post given that you just admitted being pissed at any system where the people's vote doesn't count.

sorry, did I steal your argument?

You flip flopped in the space of a few posts.

Which was the plurality. 43% btw.

Why?

Not a single super Delegate has voted yet...

It doesn't matter at this point, Bernie IS NOT WINNING the vote of the people.... if he were winning the vote of the people, and won the vote of the people come the convention, and super delegates did not move the majority of their votes to the candidate who won in the primary citizenry votes, THEN AND ONLY THEN, would it matter and then and only then, could the Democratic Party be put on the same level of scuzziness as the Republican Party.

Yeah, not a majority, though. Perot votes elected Clinton.

I agree to a degree....

You can throw Cruz into that pot with Trump and Sanders too. The ONLY reason the RNC is helping him now is to prevent Trump from getting the required number of delegates. They fear Cruz as much as Trump and certainly don't intend to allow Cruz to get that magic number of delegates either of course. And then at Convention, both will be pushed aside in favor of the nominee of the RNC's choice whether or not that person was a named candidate or got a single popular vote. If that happens, we all know for certain the fix is in.

The DNC process is just as rigged with their super delegates, but at least they were more honest about it.

Since I see Clinton or Sanders as being far more damaging to the country than either Trump or Cruz could ever be, the only solution I can see for the people is for Trump and Cruz to join forces. But there has been so much mud and crap slung, that might be seen as more rigged than letting the RNC choose.

Does make you wonder why anybody bothers to have primary elections though.

The key to being a conservative is to be intrinsically hypocritical.
