What makes you think that such motivation doesn't already take place considering the fact that an all-girl competition will have a winner anyway? The girls who go home without a medal, trophy, ribbon will already have reason to push themselves because they are the ones who are going home emptyhanded. What you say here makes it sound like that a real competition doesn't take place until a male is a part of the picture and in my opinion that is not fair.

And another thing, what you ask here is the very question to ask the natural born males who are wanting to be on the girl teams. If they are the slower competitors when they are amongst the other males, how are they going to learn to push themselves if they are amongst the female competitors instead? Going against those who only end up being the easier competitors to beat at the end of the day is not going to teach a person anything regardless of what gender they are or what gender they are not. For another example, who do you think would prevail if a kindergartener had to go up against a senior in high school for any form of a face off?
