Your Steak Is Getting Cheaper at the Supermarket

did you not read the article? it says people are being forced to cheaper option because of rhe high cost
What part of, "Prices of beef, typically among the costliest grocery store purchases, are falling after more than a year of increases", did you not get?

I did notice the price for ground beef went from $6.99 a pound all the way down to $6.98 a pound. Gee, thanks Joe Biden!

He gets credit for the drop of almost a penny savings, doesn't he? I realize this is a few bucks more than what I paid a couple years ago however Biden got it down 0.07%. Sure glad to see him working so hard for us.

Supermarkets say shoppers are seeking out lower-cost options in the meat case in response to higher prices

Americans are cutting back on steak as rising grocery prices squeeze spending.
Supermarkets say shoppers are buying more store-brand meat products and trading down from beef to less-expensive alternatives such as chicken or pork, after prices for products such as rib-eye climbed about 40% from a year ago, according to research firm IRI. Some consumers are replacing boneless chicken breast with cheaper bone-in chicken, retailers said.

Now there's a stupid comment if there ever was one.
It doesnt take a genius to understand whats going to happen to beef prices if livestock isnt replaced.
LOL You figured it out. See what you can do when you use your brain? :itsok:

"The ongoing drought combined with higher operating costs are now encouraging an unseasonably rapid culling of beef cows in first-quarter 2022 to levels not seen in decades. In fact, beef slaughter in April 2022 was the highest number on record for the month since 1996. USDA also points out that the U.S. in 1996 had some +5 million more beef cows than it did at the start of 2022. Bottom line, the numbers suggest smaller calf crops this year and next, as well as lower placements later this year and in 2023."

People are now excited when the price falls 0.07% over a four week period, however the left didn't seem to be concerned when it was increasing almost daily but now when it drops we are all supposed to be happy?
